The resilience workshop delivered to our Year 8 students was exceptionally well led, engaging, and entirely appropriate for the age range. Students responded positively to the content and activities, which encouraged meaningful reflection and participation throughout. Jay also did an excellent job adapting the workshop for our nurture group, ensuring all students felt included, supported, and able to engage fully with the session. We would highly recommend this workshop to other schools looking to develop resilience and wellbeing in their students. The students appeared more engaged. I think they appreciated something a bit different for them that was supportive in the long run.

A great day, focusing on skills needed for revision, a very useful tool for our year 10 pupils. Pupils are talking about how they are going to use mind-mapping in their revision.
Our year 9's enjoyed the super speed study skills session. The sessions were engaging with breaks in between which I feel helped to keep them engaged - 5 stars
The year 10 cohort were focused throughout the day due to Jay's engagement with them all. The techniques that Jay explained to them will prepare them going into year 11 to help them manage their time but also engage with their learning/revision.
As always, Alan engages our students from beginning to end and the students are keen to try out the new techniques they have been taught.

Student feedback has been excellent. - 5 Stars
We’ve worked with Positively You for the past four years, and they’ve very much become our go-to company for Study Skills support. The Super Speed Study Skills session with Year 10 was excellent, the content is always high quality, and the presenters engage really well with students. We’re already looking forward to welcoming you back in September for Part 2!
Everything was excellent. Thank you for your flexibility on the day too - 5 Stars
All students were engaged and said that the workshop taught them a lot. Very inspirational. We received two workshops by Dave from Positively You, for both year 10 and 11 - Exam Busters and Super Speedy Study Skills. The workshop was pitched perfectly. All students were engaged and got a lot out of it. Thank you very much! Diolch yn fawr!
We were delighted to welcome the team to The Abbey School to deliver the Resilience and Exam Busters sessions. The impact on our students has been excellent, with many feeling more confident in managing stress, overcoming challenges, and approaching their exams with greater focus and preparedness. Student feedback was overwhelmingly positive, highlighting how engaging and practical the sessions were. A special mention must go to Natalie, who delivered the sessions brilliantly. Her energy and ability to connect with students were exceptional, creating a highly engaging and supportive environment. We would highly recommend these sessions to any school looking to support student wellbeing and exam readiness. The sessions were genuinely excellent. Natalie was an outstanding presenter.
Following a consultation with Ben, the three workshops absolutely hit the brief for our students. Kate delivered them brilliantly, and both students and staff were fully engaged throughout. One student commented, “This is exactly what we needed at this time.” We will definitely be using Positively You again!
Thanks for supporting our students with exam preparation skills so close to the GCSE exams and at such short notice.
Very good and engaging workshops that pupils and staff alike found helpful.
Kate, engaged the whole audience right from the start. Her delivery was clear, confidence and enthusiastic. All the young people were totally focused on what she was saying the exercises she asked them to do, which were all perfectly pitched. All those attending, including student teachers, learned an awful lot, not only about the subject being taught but about how to engage, hold and enthuse a classroom of 16 year olds! Thank you Kate.
Alan was enthusiastic and entertaining. The study methods he explained were relevant and memorable. In the lesson following the session, students spoke about how the study techniques they had learned could be applied to their geography work.
Really happy with the service provided. Good presenters who get the key messages to students - 5 Stars
Students came away from the workshops feeling more confident about revision and exams in general! After having our Positively you “super speedy study skills” students feel more confident about how to revise and are equipped with different techniques! Jay made the session interesting and engaging throughout. The resources were also brilliant so that students could take these away and remind themselves of the techniques they had learnt. Thanks for another year of wonderful workshops! Ridgeway Academy!
Really good session. Kim was great and very engaging. Students spoke very highly of the support, skills being used in study hub sessions - 5 Stars
Thanks Natalie for 3 vibrant and energetic study skills workshops. Our students have continued to put the techniques into practice. Some still have the pens you gave them in October! The Parents Twilight session was invaluable, it was great to see grown ups embracing the same techniques you had taught their children!
A great academic drop down day for student. Natalie was enthusiastic and clear in her presentation, and the students engaged well with her throughout.
It was a very good day for our pupils as well, thank you so much - 5 Stars

The experience was valued by both students and staff alike and feedback was overwhelmingly positive. We will definitely be looking for opportunities to use Positively You again to deliver sessions to our pupils.
We recently welcomed Jay into school to deliver a study skills session to our Year 10 students, focusing on mind mapping and key word revision techniques. The session was engaging, clear, and extremely well structured, providing students with practical strategies they could begin using straight away. The feedback from our students has been overwhelmingly positive. Many have commented on how simple, effective, and versatile the techniques are, and several have already started applying them to their revision with confidence. Positively you provide students with the skills set and confidence to get ready for their exams - 5 Stars
The Exam Buster workshop was excellent – it was engaging, pupil friendly and very relevant to our learners. Delivering the session to a smaller group than the previous workshops made it feel much more personalised and pupils were able to engage more confidently. Jay delivered the content very effectively in what pupils need to do in the run up to their exams, which pupils responded to well. Overall, it was a very valuable session that supported pupils both academically and practically. Pupils have a greater awareness of revision strategies in preparing for their exams and how much revision time is needed outside of school
Kate did an incredible job for us, the sessions were engaging, interactive and overall was a fantastic day! Thank you! :) - 5 stars
Kate was fantastic! She created a real energy around the students, particularly when sharing the stories and resources to support students in recalling information in their exams. In addition to this she was great at sharing this information with some of our parents who left feeling much more confident on ways to support their child in the future.
This was a high energy and focused session for our Year 11 cohort which was really useful for them before their final push towards exams. The examples were well thought through and we will be asking the students questions about Muhammad Ali in assemblies. The techniques gave students the idea that they can do it and even if they think they can't this is because they can't do it yet. Many thanks
The session was really engaging and the students were so enthusiastic about the quality of the workshop - 5 Stars
Thank you for delivering the revision session for our students and the parent workshop at our school. Both sessions were very well received. Staff and students found the student session engaging and informative, and many appreciated the practical revision strategies and exam advice that were shared. The presenter communicated clearly and created a positive atmosphere that helped keep students focused and involved. The parent workshop was also very valuable. Parents found the guidance helpful in understanding how best to support their children with revision and exam preparation at home. Overall, we are very grateful for the time and effort you put into both sessions, and we would certainly welcome the opportunity to work with you again in the future.
Clear focus now on build up to our internal exams. Parents also more engaged with the process. Excellent feedback from students about the support given. This was our second year of using Jay from Positively You. Another chance to ignite our KS4 students and kickstart them into the GCSE mindset. Thank you! Will be booking again for next year.
The exam buster session is extremely accessible in passing on key strategies to maximise revision and Jay is an inspirational messenger to the students and parents. We look forward to the Positively You session every year.....pupils love it, teachers love it and parents feel the session in the evening is informative and gives them the confidence to deal with their sons & daughters for the next few months. It always marks the best start to our revision season in school. Pupils receive their revision plans detailing revision they need to do over the exam period on the same day. They have all come in on the Tuesday asking loads of detailed questions about this and seem more motivated to get started. We have also noted a 100% increase in the numbers attending revision sessions before and after school following Jay's session.
The workshops are very engaging. Year 11 students have been talking more in tutor time about how to revise and how to make revision timetables. 5 Stars
A fab workshop which engages students - 5 Stars
We noticed immediate positive changes in student engagement and behaviour following the workshops. Students were highly engaged during the sessions and continued to reference the strategies and language afterwards in the classroom and playground. There was a noticeable increase in confidence, positive self-talk and willingness to participate, with students showing greater awareness of their emotions and goals. The overall buzz and excitement generated by the workshops carried through the school, reinforcing the impact of the learning beyond the sessions themselves. Positively You, led by Kim, delivered engaging and highly impactful resilience workshops for our Year 2–Year 6 students, along with an additional goal-setting workshop for Year 6. Kim connected effortlessly with students across all year levels, creating a safe, positive and energising learning environment. The level of engagement was outstanding—there was a real buzz and excitement around the sessions, with students actively participating and continuing conversations well beyond the workshops themselves. The strategies shared were practical, age-appropriate and empowering, particularly for our Year 6 students as they reflected on their goals and future mindset. We are already seeing positive shifts in confidence and language and we look forward to seeing the ongoing impact of this work across our school community.
Just wanted to extend my thanks for today. Many of our learners found it very valuable and got lots out of the sessions.
Students have been making use of the online resources hub and have seemed more focussed in their second set of mock exams.
Given that we booked the workshops with relatively short notice I couldn't believe how smoothly and efficiently the whole process was. The organisation of the event was really clear, communication was excellent. On the day itself Jay was great, he was enthusiastic and really held the student's attention. The students really enjoyed the sessions and felt that they had got a lot out of them. Year 11s in particular were really focused and we had a lot of discussions around the different techniques and which ones they were going to try out in various subjects.
I wanted to extend a huge thank you for the fantastic Future Me sessions you delivered yesterday. The impact has been clear, pupils were fully engaged, they spoke incredibly positively about their experiences, and the feedback from staff has been equally strong. We received some brilliant workshops from Positively You on our drop down day. They were extremely engaging, the students found them very useful and the presenter was great. Very useful sessions to help our students with their resilience but also to think about their future.
Natalie is a friendly, lively, knowledgeable presenter. Her approach to the students was respectful and kind. You can tell she knows her content well but delivers it fresh every time. The presenters are so enthusiastic, and they convey this to the students and the staff. Staff that sat in on the sessions went on to use the ideas in their own classroom as they enjoyed it so much. Students could not wait to have them back in - for Year 11s to say this is something. Thank you so much to you all.
As always students received a high quality input linked to effective study skills, retrieval and strategies that will help to improve their revision skills . We were thrilled with the content and message that was being delivered and in watching how our pupils were engaged with it. The Headteacher commented on the segment on ‘intrinsic’ and ‘extrinsic’ motivation and how it’s was especially pertinent. Essentially, ‘authentic’ and ‘pure’ motivation is required from ‘within’ and not through any external elements and luxuries that the superficial world has to offer something which we relay to our students. At lunch I managed to catch a couple of students. They were challenged to tell me something that they had learnt from their session today in a one sentence quote only. Their response were as follows: "Don’t be afraid to fail, life is all about taking risks" and "If you want something really badly, you have to run and reach for it." I couldn’t have summed it up better myself!
Exams and revision are a part of every school’s calendar and it’s very important to us that we prepare our students well for upcoming tests and exams as well as give them revision skills for the future. We do this in many different ways including study skills sessions with revision specialists, Positively You, who visited our Year 7 and 8 pupils to help them hone their recall skills. Mrs Langford, Deputy Head Academic, said: “Our pupils and our parents were treated to an excellent revision lesson from Kim at Positively You. She used fun and imaginative techniques, like mind maps, which encourage the brain to form connections between information and pictures. “After just an hour all the children were able to remember a long list of facts about Marco Polo, the planets, the Periodic Table and counting in Japanese – and so were the adults!” During the activity-led session, the children also learnt new ways to retain facts and the importance of recalling a little of what you’ve learnt every day. “Even by telling your parents how and what you learnt about a subject at school will help you store the information for longer,” Kim said. “Don’t lie on your beds when studying - it makes your brain go to sleep. Try and have a clock in your room not a mobile phone - to replicate exam conditions and avoid distraction.” Mrs Langford added: “The very mention of the word revision can make some pupils feel very anxious, bored, or both. We know that most children won’t ever love sitting at a desk and revising BUT if they have fun ways to tackle it, creative ways to help their brain flow better and realise it does not need to take endless hours - this life skill will seem a lot more appealing.”
Your workshop truly captivated the students' attention with its high-energy, interactive format, and it was clear to see how much they benefited from your expert guidance. Many of our students commented on how the session helped them not only understand but also adopt more effective study habits that they can immediately put into practice. The techniques you shared have empowered them with practical tools to improve their academic performance, and they left the session feeling motivated and confident in their abilities. The staff also appreciated the way your session aligned with Gatsby Benchmark 4, further enhancing our commitment to providing high-quality, career-oriented education. The positive feedback from both students and staff reflects the high value of the strategies you taught and your engaging delivery style. Several teachers mentioned how they look forward to seeing the long-term impact these study skills will have on our students’ overall learning and academic progress. Thank you again for bringing such a positive, transformative learning experience to our students. We look forward to future opportunities to work together!
We had a great session on Resilience. Natalie was so enthusiastic which kept our pupils engaged. She was able to tailor the content well to match different year groups. The parents were also appreciative after their session.
Kim's presentation to our Y12s was brilliant. She was really engaging and offered a good range of practical steps to take to help students cope. We were only sorry that she'd had to cut this down to fit in with our assembly slot and we hadn't benefitted from the full two-hour workshop. We will definitely book Positively You again!
Thank you so much for being so flexible and offering the Year 11 session on study skills. The feedback about the session has been really positive and engaged some of our harder to reach students, particularly boys. I know that our Year 11 Progress Leader is keen to explore further opportunities to ensure the whole year group benefit from this style of workshop, in addition to exploring parent/carer opportunities.
The presenters were brilliant! They built great relationships with our students, delivered their sessions with passion and energy and most importantly our students engaged in the process and found the sessions really helpful as they embarked on Year 11.
Kim was fantastic and really engaged our students. The sessions were really useful and informative and I was impressed by how much was covered in a short space of time. Thank you for delivering such really helpful workshops.

Absolutely amazing session! The presenters were flexible and adapted to our learners needs. This helped learners engage and relate this to curriculum - 5 stars!
This is a good session, that helps students to understand what stops them from getting started on tasks and offers practical suggestions for how to remove these blocks.
Thank you to Jay for his workshops today - he was engaging, knowledgeable, and relatable, and we have already had positive feedback from students.
Natalie was a brilliant presenter, she made each young person feel valued and heard which in turn ensured brilliant engagement.

The Year 10s received a fantastic opportunity to experience a session with Positively You, who are experts in study skills, revision techniques and building exam confidence. The Super Speed Study Skills sessions were a great success with two form groups per session attending a 1-hour interactive workshop. The Year 10s showed great maturity and were really engaged for each session. The organisers and our Headteacher reported that the Year 10s were really impressive. The session was organised at a really good time in the year as the Year 10s will be able to put their new skills into practice along side our Marriotts 4-step revision process in time for the upcoming mock exam window.
Really good workshop. Very informative. Strategies and techniques explained well and clearly. Students reported they enjoyed the session and got a lot of useful information to takeaway. The 'you pad' booklets were great for them to take! Loved the student participation and discussion tasks.
Positively You are a fantastic organisation who "just get it." They are engaging for young learners and make the process of organising a workshop simple and easy. Their collaborative approach helps to tailor the best possible interaction and engagement every time.

Thank you so much to Dave for a brilliant Study Skills workshop. I have had fantastic feedback from staff, students and parents so thank you very much for delivering the session to our Year 10 pupils.
Positively You visited us yesterday and Alan’s session with our Year 7 students was transformative. Through his engaging workshop, which focused on fostering academic resilience, he help to empower our young learners with invaluable tools to navigate challenges and setbacks with confidence and perseverance. The interactive session not only equipped students with essential skills but also instilled a resilient mindset that will serve them well beyond the classroom.
We thought the training and trainer were excellent, staff got so much out of the day and have already started to implement what they have learnt. Thank you to Matt, he was engaging and as a result the children and staff really bought in.
The session really inspired the students to think about their time management, and various techniques to help their study and revision skills. Jay was engaging, motivating and clearly passionate about the content and it really came across. Can not recommend highly enough!
An excellent interactive session with Jay. His charisma and personality was perfect for our learners. They learned some invaluable memory techniques and revision strategies in a very short space of time. Highly recommended.
A good morning which pupils left with some good understanding and some valuable tips on how to revise in the lead up to the exams. Jay worked well and all pupils were very much at ease and interacted effectively with him.
Positively You were amazing in providing a fun and engaging study skills session to our Year 11s. They made revising fun! Booking was easy and simple and I felt comfortable in communicating with them regularly to ask questions about the day and session. Our presenter, Gareth, was also very professional and personable and help our students to see different techniques to revising.
Our second year of having Kate visit. She was fab. Relates well to the students and gives all the right messages we want to give. Given the school's journey, the workshops fit in well and Kate uses her knowledge of us to add to it.
Kim delivered workshops for us over two days and the students loved them. We had students of all levels take part and the flexibility of the delivery was of a very high quality. I would highly recommend Positively You to any educational establishment.
Matt from Positively You was excellent again! This is the 2nd year in a row that he has delivered sessions to our students and they have taken a lot from it.

Everything about the day was super. Alan was personable and, despite a sore throat, delivered the material with energy and enthusiasm. He engaged with the pupils brilliantly and they all got a huge amount out of the day. Many of the pupils have commented to me about how valuable they thought the day was. Thank you.
Rohan was exceptional. He was super engaging with the Year 10 students. Students spoke very highly of the session and found the skills delivered extremely useful.
Jay was, as always, very engaging with students and a pleasure to have with us in the school. Students have all mentioned how beneficial this workshop was prior to their mock exams that are approaching fast in the next few weeks. Great presence and quality information delivered to students.
Gareth came in and delivered workshops to Year 10 and Year 11 students. He was engaging, interesting and the students responded positively to his enthusiastic approach. I would highly recommend Positively You.
Kim's energy was infectious. Year 12 students responded very well to the Resilience workshop activities and both its reflective and interactive elements! Year 13 students found key elements of the Wellbeing workshop useful and appreciated the opportunity to talk about mental health.
A really good session. We will be asking the students to put into practice what they were taught over the coming weeks and I am sure it will give them inspiration for their revision.
Matt was excellent! Great presenting, very engaging, students have been singing his praises all week. One student has been telling others in assembly about the story technique, so a win is a win!
The sessions were wonderful. Matthew managed the students effortlessly and delivered with enthusiasm and passion. It was genuinely brilliant. No concerns or any suggestions to raise. We would happily book again.
Kim was an excellent presenter, the students listened attentively to her as she was full of energy and enthusiasm. The students could rapidly see the impact that the revision techniques introduced could have, which got their buy-in for the activities. All students left with a new technique that they could apply to their studies- thank you!
Great sessions to engage our Key Stage 4 students from Positively You. A lot to take away and put into practice - 5 stars!
The presenter was really enthusiastic and delivered a great presentation that the students found very informative and useful. The content that was covered was invaluable at this stage of the academic year and where they are with their learning.
The Super Speed Study Skills workshop was engaging, energetic and most importantly, inspiring. The students, and our teachers, witnessed first hand the impact an effective study strategy can have on their memory and how it can raise student attainment. I look forward to working with Positively You in the future.
Gareth was fantastic - his energy was infectious and he engaged all of the students (and form tutors) with the various revision activities. The variety of ideas was valuable, as well as the key message that all students are different and need to find their own 'key'. In our feedback, students have all cited the Super Speed Study Skills session as their favourite part of our revision day. We would definitely recommend this session to other schools.
Chelsea was fantastic - lively and enthusiastic! A great interactive session - 5 stars!
Nothing we could improve about the day - love Matt's energy (and his magic!) - 5 stars!

We had the pleasure of the Exam Busters session led by Jay. In just a few hours, he transformed the students' approach to studying and understanding complex topics. His insightful strategies and personalised guidance equipped them with the tools to tackle challenging exam questions with confidence. Not only did he impart valuable knowledge, his encouragement also boosted student morale.
Excellent energy from Kim who engaged the students well. Some great techniques to support their studies and ability to recall key information - 5 stars!
The Super Speed Study Skills workshop led by Jay was engaging, enjoyable and impactful. Students were engaged and thoroughly enjoyed the sessions.
Positively You are a fantastic organisation who provide meaningful and effective workshops to support learners in their progression to flourish and succeed. The workshop presenter was flexible and able to work around our plan for the day and spent time with each learner, making sure they each received support throughout the day.
Can I just say a massive THANK YOU to each and everyone of you for coming to our school! We have had a massive amount of compliments from staff here about the quality of the sessions delivered. We'll be using you all again so do look out for an email from me in the near future!
Jay was very engaging; he was able to maintain the focus of 120 students for an hour with his energetic and well-humoured presentation style. The students were very complimentary and agreed that they learnt a great deal.
Natalie was super! Her high energy and affable personality meant that our Year 11s could engage and participate throughout. The tangible "takeaways" were great!
Chelsea was engaging, friendly and interested in the attendees and they responded accordingly. She was very well organised and professional and quickly developed a relationship with the more challenging students and those that most people would miss. I would highly recommend Positively You and Chelsea for these workshops.
Kim was very approachable. She had an engaging personality which meant our learners enjoyed and took a lot from the session.
The sessions delivered were extremely helpful. Students found the session very interactive and engaging and were able to demonstrate a range of knowledge and skills developed as a result of the training.
Matt delivered three outstanding sessions to both staff and students. Students who typically lack confidence to engage with others or be in large group situations, left the day with big smiles and really took onboard some effective strategies to manage their motivation and time. Outstanding presentation - 5 stars!
Live sessions with Jay were excellent, giving the pupils some worthwhile tangible study skills - making it practical to their learning. Definitely worth investing in.
It was a really purposeful session, which the students got a lot out of. It has provided them with tools to help them prepare for their upcoming mock exams - 5 stars!
This is the second session that Positively You have run with the year group. Jay delivered the first session and Kim delivered the second session. Both presenters were able to engage all students in the sessions. The presenters were extremely accommodating and even adapted their delivery to support the educational needs of the students in the groups. The Mind Mapping session linked clearly to the Super Speed Study Skills workshop, and the knowledge the pupils had retained from the previous session was evident to be seen. The pupils had a real buzz following their sessions and they were able to recognise that this technique does work to help them remember key information. Students on entry into the hall have said that the previous workshop was imperative to them preparing for their mock exams at the end of Year 10. The school staff involved in the sessions have also enjoyed engaging in the workshops, with the staff taking away knowledge to embed in their own revision sessions for all students.
Natalie had fantastic energy and was great at engaging our Year 11 students. The techniques she showcased could make a real difference to the students' ability to remember, recall and revise key information.
I only saw a small snapshot of Alan’s Year 10 workshop, but I was hugely impressed by his energy, warmth, and charisma. He then handled the Parent Twilight in the evening with aplomb, and all the feedback that we received from them was extremely positive.
A well prepared and informative session, with useful techniques to support and guide young people through year 11.
Thank you so much to Gareth. He took two workshops for us, 4 hours in total, and remained enthusiastic throughout. Students were engaged and happy to be there. Just what they needed at the start of Year 12.
Natalie is always passionate and engaging, yet calm. The activities were clear and linked well to the previous session. Thank you!
The Bridging The Gap workshop was delivered as part of Y12 induction week. Jay was very engaging and the content was delivered in a fun, age appropriate and accessible way. It was fantastic to observe all students engaged and motivated to succeed. I would highly recommend.
Both students and teachers spoke very highly of Natalie's sessions. Students described the session as "marvellous," "memorable" and "useful for what is to come." Staff supporting the sessions said that Natalie's style was fantastic and exceptionally motivational. I could not speak highly enough of the quality of the session. We will absolutely be using Positively You again.
Great way to start the new school year...students were enthused and ready to start the next stage in their schooling. 5 stars!

We've really enjoyed working with Positively You. They have helped to engage and energise our students with practical and easy to access solutions and tips that they have been able to put into practice immediately. They left feeling confident about the start of their GCSE courses.
Really enjoyed the sessions - staff and pupils had much to take away from it. Jay was excellent in his engagement, both in his delivery and his 'behaviour management/ setting standards'.
The workshop the pupils completed was excellent - the pupils were engaged from the moment they walked into the hall. The pupils commented to staff around the school that they could remember things and they now knew how to revise. Pupils throughout the day were able to recall the information provided when they were having conversations with teachers around the school.
Jay was fantastic in engaging the students with the session, his high energy and enthusiasm ensured that all students took away something from the workshop!
Rohan took our session supported by Jay. This was a fantastic session. Rohan captured the minds of our Year 10s as he is very relatable. It would be great to have the online sessions so that form tutors could continue the conversations with the lead up to mocks end of June. The strategies that were used through the session proved to work with our students. The engagement from the Year 10s was very impressive.
I just wanted to say thank you for your delivery over the last 2 days, it has been great. The schools and students really enjoyed your Future You and Making Informed Decisions sessions. It was great watching your sessions too and meeting you both.
Positively You delivered three workshops to students at Bangor University in support of their Mentor and Mentee Programme - Exam Busters, Wellbeing and Future You. These were all delivered virtually, but still had a hugely positive impact on the students.
Natalie was a fantastic presenter who encouraged and motivated the children to learn in creative and active ways. We would be interested in future support - perhaps something surrounding wellbeing and mental health.
The students and I really enjoyed the workshop, it was very useful and informative and Matt was awesome with both his delivery and engagement - 5 stars
The Goal Setting, Resilience and Future You sessions were thoroughly enjoyable. Perfectly pitched for their targeted audience and expertly delivered by Alan from Positively You. We have already enquired about further support next year.
Our Year 10 learners gained a great deal from Gareth's inspiring presentation last week. They learned a variety of memory and study techniques to support their revision ahead of the summer examinations. Big thank you to Gareth from Positively You for being such an enthusiastic and engaging presenter - 5 stars!
Thank you for the sessions you delivered to our students, the advice offered was unique and valuable and has been well received by our students. The presenter was really engaging and the students really appreciated this. The feedback from students was really positive and I think the sessions were really well put together and aimed perfectly at our students.
Positively You came in to work with some of our most disengaged and hard to reach students. Attendance was really good and students remained engaged throughout which was all due to Jay's presenting skills - 5 stars!
Kim and Jay were incredible and really drew the students in and got them engaged and enthused. The students really enjoyed the sessions and said they learnt a lot and would love to have more opportunities like this.
We were really fortunate to have Jay with us. He had so much energy, was really engaging. He had a few tough crowds who thanked him at the end of the sessions, he was utterly positive and very quickly built up a superb rapport with pupils and staff alike. Pupils were able to engage because of a friendly, honest, positive, energetic approach that was maintained throughout both days. Pupils gained so much from their experience and it also made staff think differently about their approach to revision and exams. Staff are still talking about it days later. A great big thank you to Jay, a complete professional.
Year 12 and 13 students participated in an Exam Busters workshop yesterday, led by Positively You. Students were given strategies and techniques to aid with revision, active discussion around mindset and explored study skills, time management and burnout. Students were engaged and said that the workshops were really useful, giving them tips and strategies to improve their revision techniques ahead of exam season. Alan was fantastic and really engaged our young people.
Both the workshop and the presenter - Jay - were superb. Pupils benefitted hugely and the call-back to their previous workshop showed just how much they could remember, even two months later!
As always, Matt was an outstanding presenter. His humour and expertise helps make the sessions extremely engaging. The students spoke incredibly highly of him, especially some our less motivated students. A brilliant experience that students and staff enjoyed.
Natalie was absolutely fantastic. Her enthusiasm is contagious and she manages to get students motivated and thinking clearly about their exam preparation. Our students think they know everything when it comes to revising, however, they came out of the Exam Busters workshop intrigued and ready to try out some new strategies.
We have worked with Natalie before and she was just as good this time! Students and staff commented on her energy and enthusiasm - she did not flag for the entire 4 hours! The resources were great and the students were engaged with much positive feedback.
Our presenter, Matt, was engaging and informative, using his real life experience, skills and sense of humour to deliver a great session. We would be interested in using Positively You again for several of their other workshops - 5 stars.
We have used Positively You for multiple sessions over the past 18 months. Their approach is thoughtful, meaningful and allows students the time to develop their skills in a more informal setting. Our Year 10 students have really benefitted from the work they have done with Positively You.
These were really enjoyable sessions which fully engaged the students, despite it being virtual and a very early start in the UK! We would be interested in using Positively You again. Definitely 5 stars!
An amazing Exam Busters workshop delivered by Jay. All students found the session informative and were able to take much away from it. Jay was clear, confident and inclusive of all those in attendance - a thoroughly nice guy who related well with all the students. We will definitely think about using Positively You again.
Having previous received a staff inset day from Positively You and Matt, we were excited to invite him back to work with our Key Stage 4 students and their parents. Once again he did not disappoint!
Our students really benefitted from the Exam Busters workshops. They went away with some useful advice, which was presented in a really "student friendly" manner, but not in the least condescending. Their feedback was very positive and we will definitely use them again!
Natalie was excellent. She delivered three workshops and adapted them perfectly to suit her audience. The students loved the pace and energy in each session. I would highly recommend the Exam Busters workshop to increase student engagement with revision and exam preparation.
The pupils were really engaged throughout the session. The workshop was pitched just right, with a good mix of humour to break the ice, information to ensure the pupils knew the seriousness of the approaching exams.
There was very little we could improve about the event - students even commented that they wish they had received it earlier! Kim was great at using praise and mentioned that our students paid attention and engaged well. She dealt with their exam fears and included tasks to calm their nerves. The tasks were interactive and hands-on.
We used Positively You to give the students additional support with exam preparation. The sessions were informative, lively and paced just perfectly.
I always like working with Positively You. They expertly manage the workshops and are always good at adapting to different groups. The students react very positively and take a lot away from the sessions.
A thoroughly worthwhile and informative event. We have used Positively You for a number of years and will continue to do so! They always kickstart our revision season.
It was wonderful to have Natalie. She was extremely enthusiastic about revision and making it successful. She provided lots of different strategies for the students and got involved with the groups as they were working.
Dave was fantastic! He gave a really enthusiastic delivery, which was very informative. Students really enjoyed the session. We would be really interested in the Resilience workshop in the future.
Pupils and staff were buzzing about the techniques they could use. Superb session that pupils have gained so much from. They are already looking forward to the second session and have been emailing me for access to the online hub.
A very well structured and useful session on exam techniques and revision skills. Students found it very useful and have begun to apply the skills to their own learning.
Really great presentation from Chelsea. She was very enthusiastic and engaging. The workshop itself was engaging and I think the students really benefitted from it. The booking process was also very smooth - 5 stars!
Excellent presentation style and content. The students were really engaged and interested, participating in the activities. Some have already said that they feel less worried about their forthcoming assessments as they are going to focus on a growth mindset approach.
Fabulous session which encouraged our Year 11 learners to think about their own resilience and organisation regarding their upcoming exams. Once again, Shenaz delivered a highly motivating and inspiring workshop. Would highly recommend.
This was our second time using Positively You. It was another great experience which provided our students with lots of hints and tips to help them revise. Our students have said that they enjoyed the session and would like to receive another one in the near future.
The workshop was very engaging and there was lots of positive feedback from the students. Also, the 'You Pads' were put to good use the next day in a tutoring session.
As a member of staff, I've sat through many a revision/exam piece of training. This was something else and it made me sit up and start taking notes. After 20 years in the job, I still learnt some new ways to revise. Loved it and hope to get Positively You back in the school in the future - 5 stars!
Positively You inspired our students to take control of their own study and exam preparation. It gave them all a starting point and a clear direction. Both sessions will have a positive impact on our learners.
Year 11 have now received three workshops from Positively You - Super Speed Study Skills, Mind Mapping and Exam Busters. Each workshop built on the last and it was clear to see the impact on the students. Alan got a high level of engagement from the students and it really helped that he reviewed the content of the previous workshops.
The students enjoyed the mind mapping exercise and discovered some excellent tips for revision and the transition from GCSEs to A-Levels. The workshop was well-paced with the right amount of breaks to retain their attention. The presenter was highly energetic and knowledgeable.
The Resilience workshop that Positively You delivered was targeted towards a small group of students who specifically needed support. The presenter, Jay, interacted personally with the students and was able to have actual conversations with them, which was great. The workshop was really engaging and will help students make changes that will impact their approach to their upcoming exams.
Jake was really engaging and provided the students with lots of practical revision ideas. On top of that, the booking process was simple and the team was flexible towards our booking requirements.

Natalie was an engaging and dynamic presenter. The workshop was full of variety, not just talking and Natalie even included several personal stories to help relate to the pupils. We would absolutely book more Positively You workshops in the future.
Jay and Natalie were fantastic and kept us entertained all day. We had the Exam Busters and Resilience workshops and the content was tailored to the Year 11 cohort, which made it very relatable for the students. The presentations didn't rely too heavily on text based activities and the 'You Pads' were a great resource. There were some unfortunately timed fire drills, but the presenters powered through and gave it their best - 5 stars!!!
This Resilience workshop had an engaging mix of activities, rather than just writing. The pupils were given the opportunity to learn different techniques to improve their resilience. We would be interested in booking future workshops from Positively You next year.
Overall, it was a great day. Pupils were left with useful techniques and skills to approach their exams through an engaging, powerful and enjoyable workshop. The resources included were really good. 5 stars!

I had experience with Positively You in a previous setting and was once again delighted by their ability to bring their resources and ideas into an Alternative Provision format. My staff enjoyed their training and are already using the ideas in their teaching. We look forward to welcoming Matt again to work with our students and their parents/carers.
A well presented workshop - Jay thoroughly engaged with our diverse range of students. Parents also really enjoyed the Twilight Session and felt that it gave them a lot of ideas to help them support their children.
Jake and Kim were enthusiastic presenters who provided the students with really clear strategies they can employ when revising.
Shenaz and Natalie were professional, yet approachable. The workshops were well planned and resourced and both the students and their parents were pleased with the results. Students gave positive feedback to the teachers - 5 stars.

Positively You have now delivered three successful workshops at our school that have equipped our students with useful and fun revision tools. Working with them is always a pleasure.
Natalie was a fantastic presenter who was adaptable to the needs of our students with SEN. Our children can become easily frustrated when they fail to retain or recall information. The practical demonstrations gave them real, tangible skills they could see at work.
We have never had someone deliver such an engaging workshop. Shenaz even made the effort to learn the students' names. She also taught us how our brains work and how best to learn and remember information.
Really useful session which pupils enjoyed and left feeling more confident about the exam process. The presenter, Jay, was approachable and enthusiastic and the booking process was quick and easy.
Natalie's enthusiasm and her ability to work with a large group of students is amazing! Her positive presence on stage meant the students were instantly engaged. Overall the workshop was very inspiring. Natalie makes the whole revision process easier - 5 stars.
Our students received the Super Speed Study Skills and Exam Busters workshops. The students enjoyed both of these, with one even reporting "Jay was really helpful, he took the time to have a conversation with me and the tips were really useful." The Parent Twilight was also successful - "I found the evening really helpful, with lots of information and practical advice."
The Exam Busters workshop was full of excellent, engaging content. The Parent Twilight session was also really good, helping to create a 360 degree approach to learning. We would absolutely be looking to book Positively You again in the future - 5 stars!
Students loved the interactive nature of this Super Speed Skills workshop and Alan's manner of presentation was very approachable and down to Earth. We would certainly be interested in booking future workshops with Positively You, specifically the Teacher and Parent Twilight sessions.
Natalie delivered really engaging sessions that will hopefully support the students during their KS5 courses. She was enthusiastic and knowledgeable and we are already looking forward to booking more workshops next year.
An interactive workshop with plenty of resources to use across the whole curriculum. Great methods for coping with stress. The message of the workshop was serious, but it was delivered in a really fun way. Shenaz was as energetic as ever, leaving the students enthused and motivated.

The session was timed brilliantly, engaging and informative. Virtually worked so well, we would definitely consider another workshop virtually again, 5 stars!
Kim presented Making Informed Decisions, she was very engaging and the content was great for the session that I had in mind - I also incorporated post-16 options. Positively You provided a professional service during the booking stages of the activity. Kim, our presenter, was both engaging and informative, providing a mix of content and time for the students to interact with the session.
I enjoyed Shenaz’s positivity, the highly relevant content in Creative approaches to learning and seeing how much the students enjoyed it, 5 stars!

"Thanks once again for supporting our pupils following a particularly challenging period. We will be inviting you back!"
Jay was fantastic with our students, they were relaxed and engaged. Some were sceptical about attending the workshop but had their minds changed a few minutes in. 5 stars as he was engaging knowledgeable and approachable. Our students took part in the Super speed study skills. Jay, the presenter was fantastic with our students, they were relaxed and engaged. Some were sceptical about how much they may get out of a session on revision skills, but they were really engaged well with the workshop and felt they have benefitted from the experience.
Natalie was an excellent presenter of Goal Mapping, Mastering Student Motivation & Resilience - very engaging and knowledgeable, 5 stars! She was engaging, expert & energetic. Another year of fantastic induction week workshops. Great feedback from the students. Will be doing this again next year!
We gave Jay 5 stars because he was enthusiastic, engaging and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the enthusiasm of the presenter who engaged students and relevant, helpful content to support students. An engaging session that provided students with practical ideas to support their academic studies and exam preparation.
Our Super speed study skills presenter was energetic, positive and motivated.
Interactive and engaging 5 star Super Speed Study Skills workshop - students accessed this at home. 122 were on line and there was a really good response.
The Bridging the Gap session was a great start to the year and really got the students thinking about how they learn effectively, reinforcing all the messages we give in school. Shenaz is always so full of energy and 100% committed to getting the best out of the students!
Shenaz presented our Bridging the gap and Resilience workshops. Zero drivel/gibberish! The presentation is engaging, fun and - most importantly - useful. I love seeing the "Eureka!" moments on our pupils' faces.
Shenaz was a great presenter who was enthusiastic and who managed to grab the students' attention quickly. She provided the students with practical tips that they can use while studying at Key Stage 5. The Bridging the gap has many practical tips that students can use to help with learning and exams. The enthusiasm and personality of the presenter deserves 4 stars. She is friendly, open and relatable.
Another great high energy session covering Super Speed Study Skills and Goal Mapping. Natalie our presenter was enthusiastic, fun and energetic.
Natalie was passionate enthusiastic and friendly, 5 stars! Students enjoyed the event are were positive about the experience that they were given- along with the resources! A superb opportunity for our students to listen and work with an exceptionally passionate and knowledgeable presenter. Our students now have the tools to be prepared for their GCSE courses. Thank you for your time.
Matt is very lively and engages the students, 5 stars! He is lively, enthusiastic and a positive role model. Students were fully engaged in the workshops due to the lively and enthusiastic delivery of the Positively You speaker.
5 stars for Parent Twilight Session and Exam Busters. Enthusiasm of presenter-very engaging and pitched very well at the right level for the year group. Range of relevant ideas and techniques explained. Our presenter was enthusiastic, engaging and knowledgable.
We enjoyed that the workshops by Dave, Shenaz and Matt. They were current, informative and pupil friendly. There were a variety of ideas for each pupil to use. I particularly liked the practical elements of the sessions as this brings the theory to light. 5 stars; bubbly, engaging & enthusiastic. These courses are great tools to help educate pupils and parents on various study skills and revision techniques. It's delivered by really enthusiastic tutors who bring the theory alive by guiding the pupils through a variety of practical tips on studying and preparing for exams. Thank you for your breadth of knowledge and we look forward to working with you again.
Shenaz's energy, positive attitude and ability to tailor her message to our high achieving pupils was outstanding. It didn't feel like she was peddling the same old. The pupils felt it was their morning.
I just wanted to extend my thanks for making it such a wonderful week. It really is a team effort - your hard work and enthusiasm in supporting workshops including Resilience or keeping us fed and watered helped to ensure that the week ran smoothly and it was a pleasure to work with you all. The feedback from children and parents has been excellent and the week helped many of the more anxious students with a smooth transition to Weatherhead.
The Creative Approaches to Learning session definitely met my expectations. The Students benefitted from the sessions, they engaged positively and remembered the tips and tricks that they were taught. As always, Kim was very professional, entirely engaging on an online platform and kept the content relevant for students. 10/10
Exam Busters, Super Speed Study Skills & Parent Twilight workshops were great! Feedback from the Students was very positive on a whole. I really enjoyed Shenaz's high energy, enthusiasm and engagement with the students - she has an amazing ability to build relationships with the Students during the Sessions. Really useful techniques shared on how to learn a lot of information. 10/10
Students were given a range of tools and strategies for meeting the greater demands on sixth form in the Bridging the Gap workshop. Matt made the session fun and engaging and took the time to spend extra time with some students at the end of our workshop to show and teach them some magic tricks! Matt has great presenting style and his personality is engaging. I would recommend Matt and wouldn't hesitate to book him again for the same session next year. 10/10
The Students all feel they have benefitted from the Wellbeing sessions. Natalie had a wonderful energy and engaged with the kids from the start. She made the kids feel comfortable with sharing with the group so they knew they were not alone. I really enjoyed Natalie's positive energy, enthusiasm and approachability. 10/10
It was very engaging for all the tutor groups involved, also quite fun too. The Students definitely benefitted from the Resilience session. I liked how it covered the topics of exam resilience but also linked it in with other personal/social aspects. Kim used excellent strategies to engage the students, refocussing them and giving them appropriate time to complete activities, the quiz and competitive parts also worked well. 10/10
Our Year 5s really benefitted from the session. Natalie was great. High energy and pitched the talk at the appropriate level. The day ran smoothly from activity to activity. I really enjoyed the variety of information that the pupils had to try and remember and the methods used - there was something for everyone! 9/10
It exceeded our expectation. Great fun and very interactive. Had no idea we’d be standing up and making ‘moves’. The students’ reactions were hilarious! The mind map worked brilliantly. They absorbed all of the information and were able to answer the questions at the end. The fun interactive ‘movement’ tasks were a great way of waking them all up from staring at their screens too. Shenaz was fun, lively and engaging. 9/10
The Super speed study skills session was interactive and students engaged from the moment they arrived in the hall until they left. The areas of study skills covered were varied. The students were able to reflect on the techniques they were taught –hopefully this will stick in their minds as they move into next year. I really liked the entertaining engagement from Shenaz, the sessions worked really well considering the last 18 months the students have just had, an hour was just about right. 10/10
Once again the workshops exceeded my expectations in terms of engagement given the online platform. The energy and enthusiasm Kim brought to the sessions was a joy to watch. 10/10
Students have been well prepared with ways to revise. Students had a chance to discuss and be involved with different ways to revise and understand how a simple approach can often be the best. The presenter was very enthusiastic, authentic and kind.
I thought the students benefitted hugely from the Resilience sessions. The presenter was engaging and built rapport with the year 10's.I thought the topics were accessible and relatable. We will definitely be rebooking next year.
I just wanted to say how 'Great' Shenaz was today. I have told her myself but wanted to let you know. She was great with the students, and with being flexible due to students having covid tests at different times in the day.
Hi Kim, Thank you so much for your workshop this morning! It was really brilliant and you do a super job engaging students in an online setting. I look forward to having our next session with you.
Hello, today at around 9am someone came in to give a talk about resilience (I believe his name was Dave) and just wanted to say how brilliant it was. It was very educational and I know a lot of people took away some good advice including myself who is struggling with depression. I just wanted to say a massive thank you on behalf of myself and the level ******** students to this person for your visit.
A fantastic and engaging session on employability for year 10. The presenters were funny and informative and had a brilliant manner with the students. They thoroughly enjoyed the session and learnt a lot. Thank you so much for tailoring it to exactly what they needed to help prepare them for their future in the world of work.
The feedback from the parents session was very positive. The activities that parents could get involved in were very enjoyable to watch. Shenaz was upbeat, enthusiastic and energetic. I would definitely book this again, 10/10.
The Exam busters sessions were excellent and the students benefitted tremendously. Jay was so engaging and so easy to work with and very accommodating. 10/10 as always!
Students enjoyed the exam busters session and found it useful. Jay showed high energy. You could really see the presenter enjoyed presenting. 10/10
ANOTHER BRILLIANT WORKSHOP! Just to let you know how wonderful Shenaz was yesterday. She pitched the bespoke mixed Exam Busters workshop perfectly for the two groups of students and as one student remarked to another at the break, "She's so full of energy" . She's just the right person for our students and she engages and manages them so well. I'm sure they will all have benefited tremendously. We will be doing follow up work in Lifeskills sessions and a full evaluation next week. Thanks again!
The sessions were excellent, Kim was very clear and engaging throughout the Wellbeing sessions. She ensured the children felt valued and interacted with the children in order to enhance their overall understanding of the information delivered. The sessions really met the needs of the children during this difficult time and helped to develop the health and wellbeing of the students. Practical and realistic advice was given throughout and the children were able to see links to external support agencies (such as MIND), who can further enhance the health and wellbeing development of our students. Kim was very clear and her communication skills with the students were relevant and succinct 10/10.
I thought it was helpful how we now know how our brain works, it was really great thank you so much. I liked when we talked about how to cope with things. I enjoyed the part about the brain's chemicals, the circle of control and the swim breathing was really helpful in our Resilience workshop.
It was a very good session and thank you for being flexible and meeting our needs (even when we changed our minds). All your staff were very accommodating and professional from Ben in the office who processed our order to Natalie and Kim who delivered the sessions. 10/10
A quick thank you for your commitment to such a wonderful Wellbeing day. I thoroughly enjoyed your workshops and I know that our pupils will have learnt so much in such a short period of time about enhancing and supporting their own mental wellbeing.
Thanks for everything in helping us put on the workshops last week. I have attached data from the Evaluation Forms we sent to students for your information. The feedback has been very positive and I know some students have spoken to their teaching staff about them too. I was very impressed with the workshops and in particular Kim's energy and ability to make the content relevant and relatable for our students and their context. Thanks very much!
Staff benefited, by realising that the content of what was delivered may also be of benefit to the staff in the school as well as the students. It also confirmed with us that a lot of what we deliver in house is of a similar nature. There were some golden nuggets though that staff took away. A good focus for the whole school whilst the students were working from home. Dave was pleasant, personable, did a good job in trying to engage the students. A difficult task with it being virtual. He also reflected on some of the comments students were putting in the chat, thanked them for their honesty, and said that the school would be in touch to support the student or students who had put comments in the chat that needed following up.
The session was very intuitive and viewed a large amount of topics from the brain to resilience and emotions. The PowerPoint was very visual and interactive throughout, it was a great way to teach others in a visual and supportive way. I am incredibly happy at how the presentation was delivered as it was delivered in an interesting format and the information that was delivered was inspiring, useful and helpful. A big thank you to the host and moderator Kim for an energetic workshop that has given me more confidence in coming back to school, I know that everyone else within the school has enjoyed it at the same way I have as it has been inspiring. Thank you to Positively Mad and Kim for a wonderful and knowledgeable presentation!
Natalie was full of energy and she was able to provide some techniques for the pupils to use in daily life. Really enjoyed learning the different techniques. Natalie was a lovely lady and full of energy.
The techniques were informative and easy to execute. Kim was very up to speed with what was happening within education in Wales and related her session to how it would affect our learners. Kim was very enthusiastic and had the learners engaged. 10/10
On Wednesday 3rd Feb Dave from the company Positively Mad joined us virtually to run sessions with years 10, 11, 12 and 13. The session was based on ‘Motivation’: No amount of badgering from teachers or parents can motivate a student in the same way that self-motivation can. Mastering Student Motivation is designed to inspire students of all ages to find their own reasons ‘Why’ they want and deserve to succeed, ‘Why’ they want to work hard and, indeed, ‘Why’ they should bother to get out of bed in the morning! This session was much needed for some students who are struggling with motivation with their remote learning, however, feedback from lots of students was that they enjoyed the session and found it really useful. Below are some quotes from students who took part: “I found this very helpful this lockdown is the one I’ve struggled most in, however the talk about motivation and how it is normal to be feeling that way is a relief. Motivation is my hardest component at the moment so it helped. Thank you.” “This really helped me to stay motivated!” “The workshop was great and was very helpful.” “It really got me thinking and has made me more positive and more motivated (that’s what it was for I know but it really has). I’m excited for the other part of the presentation on the 24th. I feel like everyone needed this. Thank you :)” Dave from Positively Mad has also been in touch to say how impressed he was by how the students joined in and their comments. As mentioned above Dave will be back on the 24th February to help with students’ resilience and we are all looking forward to this session.
I wanted to quickly get in touch with feedback from our Resilience workshop with Shenaz yesterday evening (Year 12 and 13 SEREN Gwynedd and Anglesey). The learners respond really well to Shenaz and engage with the online content throughout the session - lots of discussion happens in the chat box which is great. Here is some feedback that came in from the learners themselves: Thank you very useful! This has honestly been so helpful and RELATABLE Very useful and informative I thought it was all very helpful, apart from the spoiler, but that's ok! Thank you for the session, can't wait for the next one :) Really useful thank you! Very useful Thank you so much! We have a Making Informed Decisions workshop with Kim tomorrow evening so we are looking forward to that.
Below is feedback from the resilience workshop that was deliver to Years 8, 9 and 10 on Friday 29th January, 2021. All three sessions were fantastic. Each Head of Year thought that the presenter (Shenaz) was brilliant and made the workshop as interactive for the students as possible. Pupils really got a sense of how important it is to be a resilient person. They were given practical ways to overcome stress and anxiety when they are faced with adversity. I was really impressed with the personal touch that Shenaz put on the session, talking about her own life experiences and times when she has had to be resilient; this really made it relatable to the students. I also loved how she pitched it perfectly to each age group! I would give Shenaz a massive 10/10. The day was very well structured and went off without a hitch. Students were engaged and loved doing something different to their normal lessons. A piece of feedback that I got from the students was that “it didn’t feel like 80 minutes, the time flew by and we really enjoyed it”; always a good indicator if they don’t realise how long the session was. I would definitely recommend this to other schools/colleagues thinking of doing something similar.
The 4 session were informative and entertaining. Good strategies shared and opportunities for discussion. Personable, knowledgeable, and shared anecdotes to engage. Dave was prepared to go off on a tangent to accommodate the student's questions, which was good. 8/10!
Many thanks for the online sessions that were delivered by Kim and Dave. We generally had lots of positive praise and feedback from various parents, either by email or through our social media posts. If time and money allows, we will be looking to organise other sessions in the future, either online or face-to-face when lockdown ends. Many thanks.
I just wanted to send a quick email to thank you again for your help yesterday. I asked the students what they thought of the online sessions and it's very rare that we get such positive feedback, especially for the non-academic stuff like we covered yesterday, so I really did want to share and thank you for your support. Thanks again,
I felt the sessions benefitted my students and the workshop met all of my expectations. I thought the online engagement and hand on activities, bearing in mind it was delivered remotely, were fantastic. I thought the presenter was friendly and engaged well with our students. 10/10
As you know Natalie has provided so far one crash course on Accelerated Learning and yesterday Resilience and Mental Health. I just want you to know that she is a fantastic provider, she is so engaging, full of enthusiasm and you could listen to her all day. The comments so far I have received from the NQT's on the evaluation forms all say this plus more. Even though I am not a teacher, I could listen to her all day, my mind never wandered once throughout the course, like sometimes it does as you well know if the provider has a drab voice, or doesn't make the content exciting and interesting. Here are a few comments I have taken from the evaluation forms I have received back. "The course provider was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and upbeat" "Very engaging, most enjoyable and useful course so far. Uplifting" "The course made me learn to be positive about ourselves, children in class and people around us" "This will have a positive impact on my mindse". "Very informative, would highly recommend it for future NQTs" "The course provider was wonderful. She had a relaxed approach and was really engaging as she was clearly passionate about what she was teaching us" "Natalie provided the training in a very eloquent and engaging way. She included a wide range of activities and kept us focus during the whole training" I am very pleased I have found your company Positively Mad and Natalie, a wonderful find.
The live online workshop streamed into our students homes with Shenaz yesterday evening went great. I have included some of the feedback that came through at the end of our session for your information: "This was amazing, thank you so much.” “Fair play pretty good workshop thank you very much” “Thank you for the entertaining and informative session- the highlight of my evening” “Thank you so very much for this workshop!” “Thank you so much for this workshop - it’s been so helpful.”
It was great to work with Natalie beforehand to tailor the sessions to our live online delivery needs. Natalie’s enthusiasm is infectious. Her delivery is so engaging. The content was so useful and relevant and we plan to run these sessions again next year. 10/10
Thank you for coming in on Monday, pupils enjoyed it very much. Both year groups were engaged and equipped with valuable methods. Pupils had success and proved to themselves that the strategies work. Practical and realistic strategies we are going to put in to weekly revision. Fun and knowledgeable 9/10..
Shenaz was fantastic, the students benefited massively from the session. The engaging nature of the session and the fact that students took advice away that will make a difference. The bespoke approach that Shenaz took- she took time to learn students' names and stayed and talked to those that wanted to. She was incredibly organised and made the event stress free. 10/10
Thank you for your session on Tuesday. Our Year 12 students, in the past, have struggled with virtual workshops, but on Tuesday I could see an improvement, they were engaged, actively listening and most importantly involved. Our students enjoyed the personalisation they were able to apply to this workshop. After the initial identification of the key principles of success, they were able to personalise their experience.....which I think was very important to them at this moment in time, with the pressures of mock exams next week and 'real' exams, for some, in January. As the session progressed it was evident to see that their level of positivity and belief in themselves increased......not one student identified themself as not being able to achieve their main goal. A number of students after the session asked for more sheets as they wanted to take their goal setting a step further and set themselves a goal for each of their academic subjects....how fab!
Just to let you know that Natalie was brilliant, very easy to listen too and was a very good presenter and had good knowledge and all the NQTs seemed to have enjoyed her course. I'm glad I found your company
All students were engaged for the entire 2 hour period. The presenter was brilliant with the students and got to know names really quickly. Students gained some really important study skills and saw the value in what they were doing in the session. Really personable with the students. Brought lots of enthusiasm and this was what engaged the students. The presentation was polished and adaptable to the students in the room. 10/10
Jay was engaging, creative with his choice of anecdotes and examples and clear. Yes- hugely. On Tuesday morning, many approached me to tell me that they found the sessions really useful and had helped them to organise their revision. It was perfect timing for the year group. 10/10- Jay was one of the best presenters we have had! Jay- personable, hooked the audience, set the expectations at the start- clarity of the students' role as audience. Practical nature of revision strategies.Seeing how useful the students found it and how practical the revision strategies were was amazing!
Our students were provided with techniques to support their transition to KS5. It was great to have an outside speaker talking to the students. David was very friendly and knowledgable. We have really enjoyed the sessions David has done for us. We tried using the "hands up" icon on teams in the second session to allow David to see when the students were ready to move on. This would have helped in the first session as the students would have benefitted from more time to complete activities. In the second session I was amazed at the change in atmosphere in the room when David asked the students to take off their emotional backpacks. The students seemed uplifted by this process and the whole atmosphere in the room became much lighter.
We have been incredibly lucky to work with the Positively Mad team for 3 years now, and we were very thankful that we were able to welcome Shenaz back, so early on in the academic year, despite the current Covid-19 situation. For our new Year 12 cohort, Shenaz delivered the first workshop as part of their 2-day Sixth Form Conference. For the majority of the Year 12 students in the room, they had not been back in school since we went into lockdown in March, so as you can imagine, some of our students were very anxious, nervous and unsettled. Shenaz was an absolute breath of fresh air. From the onset, the students were engaged, reassured, challenged and most importantly, settled and at ease. Throughout their 2-day Conference, Year 12 attended 3 sessions with Shenaz. During the first half of the first sessions, Shenaz learnt the names of all our students, and from student feedback, this meant a lot as it showed she was interested in each and everyone of them, not just as a group collectively. Each session transitioned smoothly into the next, and what the students covered in the previous workshops was picked back up and built upon. During our tutor programme, over this the remainder of this half term, we hope to build on the work Year 12 covered over the 2-day conference, as we believe it will further develop their characters, aid them with ideas to support their academic and independent study and overall support them across their Level 3 journey.
We were a bit apprehensive about the remote nature as we have always had presenters in college so doing it this way was really different. It did meet our expectations. We had a range of staff support so teachers and student facing support staff. Being remote and spread across more groups meant that more staff had the ability to be part of the session which was different to the normal face to face events 10 - Hope 10 means the highest? We had David and Natalie and very happy with both.Feedback from staff was that the content was very useful
The online sessions were engaging and extremely useful. Natalie tailored the online sessions to our students and setting really well. The staff who sat in on the sessions also enjoyed them and got something from them too. We had good feedback from students following the online events. Natalie was a pleasure to work with! Natalie was amazing. She really connected with the students and was lively and engaging despite delivering the same session four times with little break in between – what a professional! 10/10 - I’d give her higher if allowed!!!
Smooth running and I was able to maintain my teaching timetable knowing the students were in good hands. (There were cover staff there as well) Jay knows the venue and set-up. No issues re Covid. Positive feedback from students. Interaction and banter. The effect of the examples and ideas on the students. Professionalism. Knowledge of the subject and methods. 9/10
The involved and immersive session led by Steve, the practical techniques he introduced to students, and the enthusiasm he brought to our school. Steve’s communication was excellent prior to the event. He paid careful attention to COVID-19 regulations, and he was keen to discuss the contents of the session beforehand to ensure that he was able to deliver the most appropriate session and material to our students. I would be very happy to hear from Positively Mad in the Spring term, from January 2021.10/10
Thank you for the two workshops, they were brilliant! Students seemed to engage well in them from what I could hear, I have had a few students email me personally to say how much they enjoyed it too. You had great energy and I thought it worked extremely well on Zoom too. I thought the online ‘Bridging the Gap’ workshop was extremely successful in the current climate. Across the day we had 114 students log in and take part. Dave was excellent and managed to gain a rapport with the students in an online environment. Thank you for your time and efforts! 10/10
The Ruth Gorse Academy ran a Positively MAD week for students via Google Classrooms and Zoom, hoping to engage some of our more hard-to-reach and disengaged students by providing them with more interactive and engaging material beyond their schoolwork. The Positively MAD staff were wonderfully flexible in meeting the safeguarding needs of our school and were willing to work with us to get the programme set up in a way that would benefit as many of our students as possible. As schools struggle to keep students engaged in the curriculum and teachers/staff members miss their daily interactions with the young people they care about, the ability to see them participating in online activities of any sort counts as a big win! All of the materials were easy to use, engaging for learners, and well thought out. The live Zoom sessions were excellent and staff enjoyed attending just as much as students. We also appreciated that parents/carers were included in the materials, as many of them also require support in these difficult times. Feedback from students, teachers and parents/carers was all positive; parents stated “I think that this programme was really beneficial because it teaches children the importance of learning […] and some really good techniques were shown” Here at the Ruth Gorse Academy we really appreciate everything Positively MAD did for our students and would highly recommend their programme to others.
All three were engaging and really got the students thinking, and better at revising! As always presenter was professional and friendly – our year 11s loved it! 10/10
The workshop was fantastic and gave students practical tips on how to revise and tackle the increased workload expected at A-Level. Shenaz delivered the workshop in her usual engaging way. Great – we wouldn’t change a thing!
Very engaging and practical suggestions to help the students. The students benefitted greatly from the activities and they gained confidence with their ability to memorise large amounts of data The session was very good and I would recommend it to other schools in our Trust. 10/10
Good pace & useful, students found it helpful
Steve is a lively and engaging presenter, who is prepared to make fun of himself to grab students’ interest. I should like to thank him for taking the time and trouble to add Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde to his powerpoint for his session at Littleover. He showed students that using chunks and gimmicks do actually help them to remember a lot more facts and I think several of them amazed themselves about how much they could remember about Muhammed Ali Very helpful. We are following up on it by doing more mind maps in registration times to keep the technique fresh in their minds
The Super Speedy Study Skills session was packed full of useful tips and tools to help students prepare for exams at school, college and at university. The day was structured effectively around our school needs. The organisation from Positively MAD was flexible supportive. Natalie was brilliant with our year 10 students.
Our pupils really enjoyed it - lots of quick things that they can do. They enjoyed the high energy and suitable/easily accessible strategies for revision. Natalie had great energy, I thought that she was fab and spoke at the correct levels for our pupils. 10/10
The workshop was really informative and engaging. Age appropriate considering challenging things discussed. The children surprised themselves with the amount of information they retained. Interesting to open conversations for children to speak open and honestly about themselves. Where some of our children struggle to sit for long periods of time there could be a few more opportunities for the pupils to move around. Really informative, children were able to reflect upon themselves and teachers found it thought provoking. Easy to set up and well organised. 10/10
The workshops were fantastic. Steve is a brilliant presenter and worked really well with the learners. College learners can be a tough crowd and he managed them wonderfully keeping them engaged and feeling part of the event. Everything ran smoothly and was even better than expected; very professional and worth every penny. 10/10
I thought he was FAB! He had the kids eating out of his hands! His delivery and techniques were just brilliant. Think staff should have this training too! All students felt that the sessions had been useful. Tools for organising their time, particularly the 4 boxes for prioritising for the week were mentioned by several. Mind mapping and the # grids for organising notes and revision were also mentioned. Students also talked about how to approach study periods in the study room was useful. We all enjoyed having Jay work with us to deliver such valuable workshops to our students. I am sure that we will be using the techniques he taught us throughout the next year and we look forward to working with him again! 10/10
MAKING INFORMED DECISIONS: The activities were pitched right. They got the students thinking about making those informed decisions. We had 4 one hour workshops which on the first day back after half term was long enough. David Jerome was enthusiastic and engaged with students very well. 10/10
Excellent really engaging. 10/10
Session 1 (Exam Busters): There were clear messages. It gave students clear examples of what they can do to support themselves with revision. Session 2 (Super Speed Study Skills): Ideal for year 10, good focus on what they need to do to be successful Timing went well. Just under 2 hours was perfect time. Delivery was very good, very engaging and appropriately pitched. 10/10
Very engaging presentation from Kim. The Study Skills in particular was really fun for the students are invaluable in teaching them how to use mind maps. 10/10
Shenaz is always well prepared ahead of the sessions and incredibly flexible. She gets to know the students very quickly in a short space of time and they engage well. The workshops were about the students needs and demands and this was more than catered for throughout the week. When the workshop were not flowing as expected Shenaz was able to change direction and cater to the needs of the student whilst motivating the learner about their future and expectations Always a pleasure to work with PosMad and Shenaz. Professional, friendly flexible and dedicated to the demands of the brief and the needs of the student and staff requests. I just wanted to let you know about the absolutely brilliant feedback we have received today from both staff and students who attended the sessions today. I have been approached by other members of staff asking when Shenaz will be returning to Kirkley so that their students can attend the sessions. lovely to meet you the other day. Thanks for coming - the students told me afterwards that they really enjoyed the session! I can't tell you how rarely this happens with a guest speaker; usually, although they are really nice kids, they are quite shy and often don't really respond or get involved and afterwards they say the session was pointless and a waste of time. The fact that they were engaging with you and talking to me about it afterwards speaks volumes...
Brilliantly delivered by Nat Dee. Her engagement with all of her audiences was exceptional and she was able to alter her tone and level of delivery according to her audience. Her energy was brilliant. My colleague commented on what a lovely person she was and we have also had good anecdotal feedback.
Loved the energy and enthusiasm of Steve. The techniques demonstrated complement what we’ve done already so the students know exactly what works and what doesn’t. I really liked the practical element of the workshop, its wasn’t a lecture. The small group worked well so I would recommend school stick to around 50 maximum at a time. It allows conversation/ interaction / questions to take place 10/10
Great pace and very informative, Natalie works extremely well with the girls and gets the very best out of them. Fab! 10/10
Perfectly pitched and offered some valuable tips for developing independent learning skills. The interactive element helped keep the students engaged. 10/10
Matt was excellent!
Thank you so much to Jay. Both workshops were sparky and well received by the students and staff.
I thought that Exambusters gave students some brilliant examples and ideas on how to improve their revision techniques. I thought that there were some really good scenarios presented to students in the ‘making informed decisions’ workshop. The sessions in the most part went really well with the vast majority of students engaging well and learning. 10/10
Fast paced and informative, Natalie has so much energy making the workshops fun and keeping the students engaged. 10/10
Well planned and mirrored the parental workshop which was good. Engaging – Steve held the room and student engagement was high. Excellent.
Interactive and engaging, meeting the needs of the students and responding to how the students responded. Equips the students well with the skills they need to revise for their exams. Fantastic. 10 – Shenaz is excellent – and so engaging
The workshops were excellent and delivered well. They were very relevant and the students definitely got a lot out of the day. Our presenter, David Jerome, was super. He related well to the students and was so energetic. The workshops were excellent and the really great thing was how flexible our presenter was to provide our students with exactly what they needed and within our schedules. Thank you!
Human Bingo worked well – especially for Seren as there are multiple schools present. Allows the students to get to know each other, build on their communication, as well doing an active task to set off the session. Workshop was informative and gives the students a better understanding and tools to keep motivated for both short term and long term goals. Other teacher commented “Another interesting session, thank you.”
A good length for our students. The ideas matched exactly what we have been saying in school so really suited our school overall message. With one lower ability group, they sometimes struggled to keep up but this is something we could look at in the future and perhaps group differently. The students were inspired to go away and try the techniques and the staff were also inspired to use them to help the students revise in lesson. Excellent, and held at a perfect time of year as students had just received some mock results and also have more mocks coming up
Students feedback that they got a lot out of the workshop. Great, no problems, ran on time and presenter (Dave) was very accommodating. Dave was very approachable.
Support, delivery and enthusiasm from Shenaz and Steve was fantastic. Both engaged pupils and parents which was a main purpose of the workshop. Amazing! Could not have been better. 10/10
As always, the workshops catered perfectly to the needs of our students. The resilience strategies were accessible by all students and will be re-inforced during the tutor group sessions throughout the year. Our students were engaged throughout and the skill of the presenter meant that the sessions were very subtly adapted depending on differences in the audience participation – ie. If students indicated they were on a Uni progression pathway, the guidance was ever so slightly different to those on an apprenticeship or employment pathway. The information shared was backed up with research which enabled our students to ‘believe’ in the guidance and this was a key point for us, the strategies were not only ‘common sense’ they also had a robust grounding in Neuro-science and Psychology research. Our students are a tough audience and they responded to the academic insight which our trainer provided. As this was the 2nd time we have used Positively Mad, we believe it was really beneficial to have Shenaz once again, as she was familiar with the setting and the academic ‘context’ of the college. She knew the structure of the pastoral team and this enabled her to connect with the students as someone who ‘got’ where they were coming from. Also, as she has a spookily good memory, she even recognised students from the sessions last year who were not even in her workshops and this was a really positive experience for them. The equipment and room set-up was not overly disruptive and the whole 3 days went without a hitch. 10/10
Wonderful ideas, good opportunities to explore strategies and time to consider application to our own practice. Kim has excellent energy, a brilliant focus on outcomes and she supported all the staff to consider how to embed improving memory into lessons.
"Shenaz completely reinvigorates your passion for teaching. Her knowledge and enthusiasm is infectious and she had our large cohort of staff in the palm of her hands. Her delivery, techniques and methods are simple yet extremely effective and help staff to refocus on classroom techniques and train students ready for the marathon that is their A level exams. She is honestly the best CPD we have ever had and our staff were bowled over with her methods. We were so impressed with Shenaz that we immediately booked her to come back in to deliver exam busting sessions with our A level cohort, including a bespoke session for our students who failed their mock exams. She truly is a jewel in the crown of positively MAD".
Fun, interesting, pupils engaged! Would definitely recommend!
I really enjoyed working with Shenaz for the two days. Her presentation and engagement with the students and staff was excellent. The students seemed to really enjoy the workshops and were engaged with the tasks. A few problems occurred (out of our control) during the sessions and Shenaz was great at keeping everyone calm. I really appreciated her ability to adapt the sessions as needed to make sure the students benefited as much as possible in the environments. Despite the problems Shenaz made sure that the students were kept entertained, engaged and focused on the workshop. The workshops seemed to work really well with the students engaging and learning about the importance of goal mapping. Elfed Morris - Of what I hear from the schools staff present everyone was very, very impressed with the nature of the presentation / workshop for yr9. Pupils were engaged and on task and absorbing the information. No mean feat for a two hour session. Comments from other teachers present during the sessions: “Really enjoyed the workshop, very interesting.” “I feel inspired as a teacher.” “Really good session. She seems to understand the students really well.” “She’s doing really well and is keeping the students focused.”
Seren Hub - Goal mapping 5.12.19 I was truly inspired yesterday by Shenaz at the 'goal mapping' presentation at Ysgol Tryfan. As an educator myself, I was amazed at how Shenaz got all the students engaged throughout the entire afternoon, story-telling, advice giving, discussions and her whole energy and bubbly character was highly infectious - with thanks for sharing highly personal stories that brought a lot of things into perspective. Our pupils thoroughly enjoyed too, and we all chanted some Japanese words on the bus back to school. A well-planned, interesting presentation that was delivered with high energy and clear messages "You can't achieve a goal that isn't there, or hit a target which cannot be seen." Many thanks.
Very well organised and delivered. Natalie was positive and motivational. Thank you Natalie for your time in advance of the session, discussing what I required from the sessions. The sessions went really well and the students found it useful. 10/10
We booked Positively Mad this year for the second year running after a brilliant session in the previous academic year. Once again we were lucky enough to have Shenaz. The students were so engaged. Shenaz is incredibly astute and was able to tailor the session to the students she had in front of her; she understood their fear of failure and was able to explain it to them in a way that validated their experience as A Level students. Shenaz worked to make each student feel that they could achieve what they put their mind to. As the students came away from the session they had renewed focus and a more positive mental attitude about tackling difficult subject matter. Shenaz is an inspirational speaker and her positivity is infectious, I cannot recommend these sessions highly enough.
Excellent, very engaging and relatable for the students who were in the room at the time. Very well organised, well structured and kept the students engaged throughout 10/10
Interactive session that got parents thinking 10/10
As always Shenaz has the group under control and runs an active and enthusiastic session which our students appreciate.
The workshop was very interesting and gave the students some helpful ideas about goalsetting. All of the students were engaged throughout the workshop and I received positive feedback from the students. Shenaz was very personable and engaging. The students really enjoyed the workshop and they were very impressed that she could remember all of their names after only just meeting her. 10/10
Punchy, lively, a really good reminder of a wide variety of revision strategies Many of our staff said this was the best revision workshop provider we have had in recent years
The workshop offer valuable exam revision techniques to students as well as an opportunity for students to self-reflect.
Very engaging and students were able to participate and reflect at the same time. You could see on students’ faces the recognition they had with some of the things that were being said. Being able to recognise this to their personal experiences led to further engagement. Fantastic and very, very personable to students 10/10
The students thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and have given very positive feedback in the following days. They enjoyed the way Shenaz delivered the workshop and have taken away many valuable strategies as a result. Staff and students really enjoyed the session and it was well organised/delivered. 10/10
As always it is a real treat and pleasure to have Shenaz working with our students. Always organized and well prepared and full of knowledge. Students interact really well with Shenaz and the PosMAd works shops. Staff can see a real benefit too. Shenaz has a real understanding of what we would like to happen in the workshop and is always very insightful with the students. Adapting the sessions if necessary. Shenaz understands the needs of the students and can easily adjust the workshop to meet the needs of the learners. It’s really interesting to see how she engages and speaks with the learners and how they respond in a positive way. Several comment from staff and students last week include. Can we have some staff CPD on the same topic? I’m pleased I’ve stayed, I’ve really learnt from the presenter. I’ll be taking this technique back to my classroom. Please please please come back !! I’ve recommended Pos Mad and Shenaz to my colleagues for various projects. My hope is that they will be in touch soon. Looking forward to working with you all again.!!
There was a good variety of activities and there was a fast, engaging pace. Natalie was hugely enthusiastic and the revision techniques are easily adapted to suit many subjects. The workbook is useful for the students to make notes and remind themselves about the techniques. 10/10
The workshops were tailored perfectly for the target audiences (Exam Busters with year 11, Bridging the Gap with years 12/13) and were exactly what we wanted them to be. The students all gained something valuable from their workshops, whether it was specific revision techniques, learning to learn more effectively, or for some them just advice for general exam preparation and wellbeing. Shenaz was an absolutely fantastic presenter and was very talented at keeping the focus of a large number of students (some of whom can be quite challenging) at the same time throughout the session. Her energy and enthusiasm were infectious, and her enjoyment of what she was doing clearly influenced everybody listening to her.
Liked the fact they were interactive for students to actively participate in, rather than just be spoken to. Very useful for students at this time in their school lives. 10/10
Very good as ever. Can I pass on how brilliant the deliverer Shenaz was. Parents, staff and most importantly students were in awe of her. Outstanding at what she does and we will be asking for her as the deliverer from now on. Can she come and teach here please Sir? 10/10
Very informative and you were able to hold the students for long periods of time by breaking up the information. Students also enjoyed the tips and methods to help them learn and remember / recall. Parents were pleased and we received emails to say how happy they were that staff we bringing this information to use in the class room to help their children. 9/10
I would just like to thank Shenaz for her brilliant sessions. Her ability to connect with students and relate to their stage in education was impeccable. Her delivery was engaging, relevant (almost as though she worked with us daily), the language she used to explain her workshops couldn't have been more on point. Students have left with lots of new methods to revise and tips to manage their emotions and be more resilient. I will be booking next year. Teachers were blown away and loved every minute of the workshops.
Shenaz was engaging, non-stop, pacey and really bought into what our students needed. She was very impressive indeed. The principles of developing greater resilience for our students was well presented. 10/10
Excellent presentation and students were engaged throughout. Well organised and good day for students. 10/10
Well pitched, engaging, with lots of fresh ideas for students and staff. Really glad we arranged it!
The Super Speedy Study Skills workshop was delivered to our Year 10 girls, then the parents session with Year 10 and 11. Both sessions were absolutely superb. In particular, the content provided students with accessible strategies they could deploy across the curriculum which promoted processing, rather than passivity. Not only were the activities explained, they were demonstrated and applied. The facilitation of retention was tangible for every single student. As such, students finished feeling equipped and confident in the skills they had developed. They were keen to adopt these strategies in their independent study due to the enthusiasm invoked in them during the sessions. Complete buy-in was also supported by the scientific evidence provided and approach taken in delivery. Furthermore, parents were completely engaged and delighted with the progress they observed amongst their children. They were also extremely grateful that the messages conveyed were consistent with the advice given by themselves and teachers. As such, at home, they felt confident they would be able to enable effective study. The resources used were absolutely appropriate, however what really made these sessions was the competence and tone of our presenter, Shenaz. Her manner with the students and parents was spot-on. She instantly read the audience and ensured that every member was able to fully participated. We will certainly be booking again in the future!!!
Pitched at exactly the right level for our students. The speaker was very adaptable and appeared very organised right from the start. A great presenter! A+ 9/10
Year 10 and 11: Super speedy study skills. Pacey delivery ensured the large audience stayed focused. Feedback from students has been positive with a general sense that there was some technique or method for everyone. Some have expressed confidence moving forward into the academic year and I will be directing tutors to have follow up sessions. From a parent: ‘My daughter …. advised that she was amazed at how much information she could quickly remember and recite using the skills and techniques provided during the workshop. …. usually has to read things a couple to times to be able to understand and recall she has read. She found the techniques very useful and I was delighted to hear how much she enjoyed the workshop.’ ‘Bridging the Gap’ Year 12: small group but they responded well to Jay’s banter and quickly focused on all the tasks. Again, positive feedback from all students providing a range of techniques for all to use. The time keeping and organisational elements were very useful. Thank you to Jay for an excellent day.
Steve was well prepared and the material was delivered at an appropriate pace and with enthusiasm. He engaged the pupils. Met our needs and will use again! 10/10
Jay was excellent and there were some very positive messages; ideal for the first day of term for the new Year 12 students
Road to Resilience Package: In terms of the staff CPD staff felt that the sessions were informative and expertly delivered, one staff member said that it was the best CPD that they have had in 25 years of teaching. Staff did feel that the CPD could have been condensed from 4 hours to 3. In terms of the parental twilight, the session was very useful for parents and really helped parents to think about how to support their child with their level 3 studies. The student sessions helped us to embed our ethos of growth mindset and resilience to all our students and also taught them specific skills that will help them to cope throughout their time at college, but these students will also now have these skills for life. Shenaz was so enthusiastic and this was infectious, she was fantastic with staff, students and parents and we would recommend this session unreservedly to others.
We were very pleased with the event and we felt that our students did benefit from this.
Virtual Recall: It was an absolute joy watching Shenaz working with a range of students- some of which can be difficult to engage. A range of activities were evident depending on student level and needs. Shenaz was engaged with the students within minutes of them entering the classroom and quickly addressed them and got to know them. I witnessed on several occasions ‘lightbulb ‘ moments with different students when they really understood what Shenaz was communicating. I cannot recommend Shenaz highly enough and look forward to working with Positively Mad and hopefully Shenaz in the future. Shenaz is an asset to your company.
Rip Roaring Resits: I thought the workshops were excellent and both Kim and Natalie were brilliant – they helped to inspire students to achieve their best and gave them very useful techniques for learning and remembering. Feedback from the teachers has been extremely positive, with some staying behind after the class to personally say thank you. Other teachers have said they will continue to use the skills taught and many students took screenshots of different slides for their own reference moving forward. As always, I thought the workshops were extremely valuable and Kim and Natalie were both a delight to have in college. Their positive attitude shined through in their workshops and feedback has been extremely positive by both students and staff! Thank you!
Natalie is a great communicator and trainer and wasted no time engaging our students who are not generally the easiest to get on board. I have already seen students try and apply some this in learning and note taking. Great session even according to teachers
Engaging delivery, confidence building for students, useful strategies.
Facilitator full of energy. Lots of helpful strategies. 10/10
We recently had Shenaz from Positively MAD come in to deliver a session called 'Goal Mapping' to our Year 12 students. We were delighted with the session and the students excitedly described it as "the best tutorial we've ever had". Shenaz did an amazing job at inspiring the students, engaging everyone in the room and making the session personal and relatable. The students learned techniques that will support them through their A-Level study and encourage them to aim high. We would recommend this workshop without reservation.
Very interactive and informative- well delivered and you really captured their attention.
Great workshop. Students were really well engaged for the most part. (Same odd students who have to talk through anything!!) Some really good strategies. Well presented. 10/10
Hosted 3 Positively You presentations (2 hour) in 2019, via funding from UWE. They were very well received by staff and students who then went on to achieve a progress 8 score of +0.9, which put them in the top 1.5% of schools leavers and the school in 94 out of 6,000 schools. Thank you ‘Positively You’ for making this happen for our students."
Yate academy hosted 3 of your presentations (2hour) last academic year, via funding from UWE. They were very well received by staff and students who then went on to achieve a progress 8 score of +0.9, which put them in the top 1.5% of schools leavers and the school in 94 out of 6000 schools.
Presentation and delivery was well planned and engaging for students of different abilities. Chris linked strategies to pupils’ well-being and GCSEs, which was relevant. Students were well behaved, responded well to Chris, took part in activities and generally positive mood during the workshops. All staff and students that I spoke to said it was useful. The SEN department even said their students who lack confidence, came out saying they would now be more confident revising independently.
Students found Jay’s delivery both entertaining and engaging. The key messages supported what we say in school, but were delivered by someone different in a different way. Lots of images / words / anecdotes to hold attention; the pace was good. Staff in attendance felt the students’ focus and engagement were very positive. Jay clearly knows how to relate to a hall full of teenagers. Well-structured. Jay was flexible to work around our time slots / breaks etc and understood and was not phased by the workings of a school e.g. use of hall as social space at lunchtime. The staff session was useful in that staff are now equipped to do follow-up work in terms of targets / deadlines.
I am confident students can revise for their upcoming exams using some of the techniques shown. Time management was great
Very relevant to our pupils and really opened up the thinking for many of them. The students themselves commented on how positive they found the sessions. Fantastic engagement and the fun and active approach really engaged many of the pupils.
The first half of the session contained some really helpful revision and study techniques for the students and a lot was gained within the space of time provided. These techniques were delivered in a fun, memorable and engaging manner.
An outstanding workshop that engaged and motivated our pupils. Shenaz really engaged with all our pupils and they were all very motivated following the session. An excellent day and excellent presenter.
Natalie’s delivery was excellent. She was passionate and engaging and the students got a lot from the sessions. Natalie was well organised and well planned and the day ran very smoothly.
I have had some feedback from a member of SLT this morning: She was offering some additional mentoring to some students yesterday and there were another three Y11 students working in the same room. Part of the conversation was overheard, from one of the girls, who were talking about their Positively MAD experience. This girl said that she is fed up with teachers telling them what they need to do, as regards to revising for exams. However, Chris didn’t just do this, but he actually showed them how to do this. She was overheard saying that she’s never really known how to revise, but now she knows a number of different techniques that she can use. The group then went on to ‘test’ each other on the ‘Muhammed Ali’ information!! They were all thrilled that they had learnt this information and it was ‘still there’.
I just wanted to say that the Bridging the Gap workshop was fab! Thank you for arranging it! Not only did it benefit students but the staff supporting were enthralled. We have been able to take away revision/recall techniques to benefit all learners. The students who attended both workshops felt that they have been given support to effectively transition from KS4 to KS5 and all students felt the tips given yesterday would be useful to track their own learning and improve their grades.
Thought very good and targeted at the right level and subject specific which was good to see. This enabled the methods delivered in the original course to be revisited and used with subject specific relevant information. Very good. Kim was great lots of energy and very inspiring. Always a good feel to the MAD sessions. 10/10
The workshop was beneficial as a means of focusing the learners on their longer term goals. In general, the learners attending were those studying practical subjects, and typical comments are ‘It’s too early to think about what I might be doing in a few years’ time, I just want to be trained and get a job’. The workshop was therefore very useful to help them think a bit more about what they want to achieve and, importantly, their motivations. This kind of workshop therefore helps to raise aspirations and can improve an individual’s resilience and determination to achieve goals. Shenaz was a brilliant presenter. She engaged so well with the students and staff present, and worked very hard to enthuse and inspire. It was a challenging audience, and she managed them well, getting learners involved and engaged. The planning discussion we had before the session really helped too, we changed the layout and allocated staff to tables to be facilitators of activities – this worked really well. The first workshop delivered by the previous presenter (not Shenaz) suffered from not having this discussion beforehand, meaning that we weren’t as well prepared and weren’t able to best meet out learners’ needs.
It was great to meet Emily today. She had such great energy and positive mind set. She was able to really get the first group working and thinking. The second group were a bit more of a challenge but she worked very hard and there was a good energy in the room when I came in at the end of the second session. The students and teachers really enjoyed the session and the students were thinking about themselves in a different way during their destinations interviews which followed Emily’s session. It was a great day and we would definitely have something similar in school. Thanks. Excellent day, Lots of energy from the presenter.
The exam preparation workshop was very positive and the students in year 11 received this very well. Steve was very professional and worked well with the students.
Jay coped well with the 150 in each workshop. Students were engaged and commented afterwards on how much they had enjoyed the workshop and what they got out of it. Very well received by students. 10/10
The workshop was well conducted. Students were very positive about the workshop and engaged throughout. We will be booking again for next year. 10/10
Engaging and relevant. A great experience for the students
I felt that the Bridging the gap workshop was well delivered and was pitched perfectly to support sixth form students. As always, thank you for accommodating our requests 10/10
Very useful and they offered plenty of tips for students that were both practical and easy for the students to do. Excellent day that really has benefitted the students and staff.
The workshop information was useful and interesting. I thought the interactive aspects were great. The presenter was engaging. The memory game was interesting. The students said they would use the information gathered to use for revision purposes.
I have copied and pasted the survey from my year 11 cohort and summarised the main comments made. 1. Did you enjoy the workshop? Yes – engaging, yes – he had good energy levels and kept everyone focussed, yes – good tactics to help you stick stuff in your brain 2. Did you feel like you benefitted from this? Yes – good revision tactics, gave a different style that maybe haven’t seen before, lots of easy tips and tricks. 3. How did you rate the presenter? All liked him – energetic, engaging, enthusiastic, efficient, got to the point in the small amount of time he had (this was due to our school timings and not any problems with positively mad) 4. Would you recommend this to other students? Yes Many staff commented that he allowed the students to be very proactive and didn’t let them switch off/mind wander. He earned their respect early on. Allowing them to have 5 minute brain breaks helped too and they cooperated with him every time. The mad pads allowed students to make the necessary notes they needed. Everything went smoothly and he was well liked. Thank you!
Kim, forgive me for not writing to you to thank you on Friday. We wanted to say a huge thank you for the wonderful workshops you did – they made a big impact on staff and boys – and parents – and have given us a lot to think about and discuss in lessons. Thank you again for your huge effort, hard work and for sending through the power points.
The boys in each session were very enthused – the age range was from 7 – 13. Kim did really well adapting the two sessions to each age group – but each time the messages were equally clear and strong. The power point was excellent and backed up visually what Kim was saying – staff and boys have been talking about some of the points that came up, partly because the visuals were so strong and have helped us remember the content.
A good balance between Kim talking and getting the boys to participate – each session went quickly and enjoyably. Kim was in complete control of her content and audience. The parents at the last session were also engaged and enthused and Kim did well to pack the information into a tight 45 minute slot.
The sessions tied in very well to topics we have begun to explore in school – mindfulness, resilience. Having Kim gave us different angles to think about eg What does success look like? What are the chemical reactions that go on in the brain and influence our mood? Keep a bedtime diary of positive things to keep the “good” hormones in the front of your mind while you sleep. So lots of good ideas there for us.
Students found it informative and beneficial, it was delivered well with a clear message. On time, arrival set up easy and engaged the students
Very engaging and practically informative. Students were fully involved and enjoyed the session immensely. 10/10
Unfortunately this year I was not able to be present during the workshops, but I met with Steve in the morning and I have heard nothing but good comments from both staff and students. Steve kept the students engaged, interacted with them and gave them plenty of useful tips to take away with them. The event was well received and staff were also engaged and interested in the workshops., thank you. As always the preparation beforehand, communication and knowledge that this is a valuable event gave me confidence in Positively Mad.
Shenaz is superb and she is the reason we came back to Positively MAD this year. She is a delight and full of energy and enthusiasm. A superb morning thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
We felt that the exam skills sessions for year 10 and 11 were particularly relevant and timely. Certainly, students spoke positively in relation to the mind mapping techniques and their usefulness for exam preparation. We felt that the sessions offered practical advice for students, and the exam blitz session for year 11 encouraged our students how to manage their time effectively. The feedback from students and staff was overwhelmingly positive, and pupils are still recalling the fascinating facts on the life of Muhammad Ali. Year 8 really were enthusiastic about the Goal Mapping sessions and the power of positive mindsets. The resources were useful and practical, and Jay maintained levels of pupil interest throughout with his infectious sense of enthusiasm.
Natalie was a superb presenter, delivering both workshops with genuine enthusiasm. She pitched both workshops perfectly to the different age groups (Year 8 and Year 10) and the interactive format kept all the girls engaged throughout. Thank you. To quote an email from a parent in an email already received the day after the workshop: “[She] came home more resilient! [She] said the resilience session and presenter were “captivating.”” (Year 8 parent from Resilience workshop)
Brilliant and incredibly energetic
As always, brilliant! Students were engaged and found it useful. Superbly run as always.
Shenaz was as brilliant as ever and both year groups came away with lots to consider. It is proving very effective as the following day pupils in a History class were asking the member of staff to help them structure their revision based on some of the techniques they were shown – they worked! Just what we needed – thank you.
Very good workshops, presenter (Natalie) interacted well with the pupils. The day went very well, thought the pupils took a lot from the day and hopefully remember a lot of the techniques used
Lots of very positive feedback from both Students and Staff in the way it was delivered. Pupils I spoke woth after the workshop felt it something they could and are going to use to revise for the forthcoming exams. Overall I believe this was a very positive experience for them and something the majority of pupils will use. Well organised and run with very positive feedback from all who attended.
As always Kim was brilliant. The children loved her and recognised her from last year so there was a real buzz in the hall. The teachers who sat in on the presentation thought it was excellent.
Shenaz was fantastic with the pupils. All pupils were engaged during the sessions provided.
As always the workshops were fun and informative for the students. They all really enjoyed themselves and I don’t think they even noticed how much they were learning which is always a good thing. A well structured, fast paced day which the girls really enjoyed and got a lot out of.
They were great, Shenaz had the expertise and skills needed to keep the year 11’s engaged, learning and achieving what was set out in the workshop. Good pace and inspiring/ motivational elements added too. The techniques used were simple enough and explained well to enable to students to use them in practice.
It was indeed interactive and as well as informative. As a school we are always trying new things and one of our key focuses is to work more with parents. The session Kim delivered certainly helped us make that connection we were hoping. WE are going to try to continue this type of support for parents to support their child. Really positive and still testing students on their knowledge on Marco Polo and the elements of the periodic table. Kim was friendly, easy to talk to and nothing was ever a problem. She was indeed MAD – top session
Excellent activities for bridging the gap between GCSE and Sixth Form. Smooth, slick and very professional. 10/10
The workshops were interesting and interactive. Jay was very lively and relatable. The 2 different sessions were very useful to each year group and hopefully all students came away with some motivation for the coming year. Jay’s session on mind mapping was an excellent way to show student how they can revise effectively and proof that it works. The day ran very smoothing and Jay was very flexible with your timings and managed to deliver the sessions equally as well in a shorter time frame.
Bridging the Gap: provision of a number of practical ways to enhance learning and study were memorable. The ‘Success Sights’ and ‘Feedback Sandwich’ particularly good scheduling tools for sixth form, and ones I can return to with them in an assembly. Mind mapping is a proven goody and one I use as an English teacher; the proof of the Muhammed Ali mind map was hard hitting. Mastering Student Motivation: much better hearing it from another (“not someone in a tie”Jay) Carrot and Stick / Actions and Consequences are important messages. I like the variety of ideas covered and the repeated message that it is up to them. The Wheel of balance and goal setting was effective and well received by the students. Your comments on the day: smooth, efficient delivery; great stamina, anecdotes and engagement. A great learning day!
Appropriately pitched for the new students. Delivered in a vibrant and friendly approach. Natalie and Kim were very engaging through the whole day with the students. Both presenters were excellent!
The workshop was very engaging and helped the students unpick the mystery of revision. Many of the students reacted very positively to the workshop and it was exactly what they needed at this point in an important year.
Very enthusiastic presenter meant students remained energised throughout. Very good; we would definitely have you back
Jay was excellent in every way. Our students responded very well to his workshop, and we have received lots of positive comments from our students following the event. The content was appropriate and it met the specifications outlined in our brief. Jay’s communication was excellent in the run-up to the day also. I will certainly consider booking this event again for next academic year. Our thoughts will turn to organising next year’s Year 12 Induction Event in early 2019, and I look forward to consulting Positively Mad in due course. I would like to offer my thanks, and on behalf of everyone at Bradford Grammar School for a superb training workshop.
The workshop was informative, giving accessible knowledge and strategies to all our staff. The workshop was on Monday and by Tuesday, many staff were commenting on ideas and strategies they would personally be using and those they’d be sharing and supporting our children with. For what could be a sensitive topic, Shenaz presented the material in a clear and understandable way. Shenaz ensured the day would be successful by getting to know the school and its requirements, prior to arriving. Shenaz quickly gets to know people and puts them at ease, which then allows for open discussion; Shenaz is a great ambassador for Positively MAD. Please pass on our thanks.
Steve was able to quickly build good rapport with the students and kept their attention throughout the morning. The sessions were informative and practical. It was learning and fun put together! A lot of content was covered in a fairly short amount of time. The day went smoothly and Steve was very well prepared.
An excellently run course, Kim was very enthusiastic. She was very strong, but fair with some of our students which was good. I believe the timing of the course was well placed, as the pupils are just to start their GCSE courses.
Really interesting - it was great to have such a wide range of ideas. Very well organised and delivered.
Lisa was great. Really upbeat and engaged the audience. Lisa arrived early, really well organised and very professional
A great course with fantastic practical ideas that can support all the students. Great ideas for staff and students alike. Delivered with enthusiasm and energy that helped keep students on task and engaged. A great day for all involved.
Thanks so much for the really engaging workshop. The students loved it! I saw a number of them at the end of the day, and they were 'buzzing' from some of the ideas. I know quite a few of them really well, and it is remarkable that they could tell me so much about Marco Polo after spending just 5 minutes on the topic 6 hours earlier! We will certainly be continuing with some of these ideas, and I would recommend that session to anybody. Clearly the principles would work with our HAPS when learning quotes for a literature exam.
The day was really informative and engaging. Staff feedback is overwhelmingly positive with everyone taking away action points and ideas to carry out both within their classroom and personally. Natalie’s presentation style was a good mix of seriousness balanced with upbeat, informal anecdotes and great ideas. The information within the course made us think more deeply about our own mental health and well being as well as the impact on, and signs for, young people’s mental health. Many staff have already implemented some of the ideas with their classes.
Thank you to the organizing and the delivery of the resits sessions at our college, the sessions went really well. I have a couples quotes below from our staff; “Thank you for booking Positively MAD; students and teachers alike really enjoyed and found the presentations beneficial.” “As far I’m concerned the sessions were a great success so thank you so much for organising them, on such short notice Yes I’m happy to go ahead with them early next year on dates suggested”
It was brilliant that it gave students so many practical tips for revision. Kim was really engaging and it was nice that she gave examples of how the techniques worked such as the mind map and using objects around the room. The students have commented how useful it was and we’re looking forward to working with you again.
All good valuable revision tools, tips and techniques. The students were attentive throughout both workshops. Even the staff present said they had learnt something new! Jay was a lively and engaging presenter who pitched his delivery perfectly for our Y12 students. It was really helpful to be able to cover the whole year group across the three schools in one day.
Well organised and executed. Kim was an excellent presenter who left us with many ideas for improving learning outcomes. Staff were very positive about the day. I would highly recommend this training to other schools.
Good for teaching students how to prepare for exams. Introducing memory tools. Definitely stimulated a positive attitude towards learning and revision and provided simple techniques to organise work load. Shenaz was an excellent presenter and read our students extremely well.
It was lovely to meet you on Thursday. Thank you for the fabulous sessions you ran. The informal feedback I have had has been entirely positive, with requests for you to return again in the future. "The best CPD session we have had in years" was one quote. I will get wider feedback after the Easter break and come back to you with further at this time. I really appreciate that you took the extra time to travel to Suffolk New College, as were the teams that had met you on previous visits.
Teachers and children were very enthusiastic about the day. Lots of teachers have already started using some of the mind mapping and storytelling techniques that Kim shared. Thank you
Students found the workshop really inspiring. They loved the style of delivery and several of the more disaffected told me things they had learnt from it later in the day. Several staff stopped me to tell me how inspiring it had been and I’ve already been asked to look at what else you do.
The course was exactly what we were looking for. The content was excellent and was geared towards all types of learner. The MAD Pads were a great resource that was easy for students to get their heads around and fill out as the session went on. We were very impressed with Emily’s energy and enthusiasm throughout the day (I don’t know how she did it!) and she built up a fantastic rapport with staff, students and parents, so thank you so much again! The pace of the course was fantastic, it gave students the opportunity to take on new ideas and have time to reflect without getting bored. We received lots of great feedback from our students, who said they were engaged and it’s helped them to approach their revision in a different way – there was something to suit everybody. One student placed a bet before the session that she wouldn’t learn anything but came to us afterwards stating she owed us a fiver because it was great! Parents were also very complimentary about the session too and requested a copy of the PowerPoint so that they could reinforce some of the techniques with their children and help to support them in the lead up to exams. Staff have fed back that they also benefitted from attending the session as it has given them a number of strategies to re-engage learners and approach revision in new and innovative ways. The day was fantastic overall. Emily was incredibly professional and engaging all the way through. She was well received by students, staff and parents and we are entirely grateful for her effort. From our perspective the day ran fantastically and it was thoroughly beneficial. Thank you, Emily!
I found the workshops to be really enjoyable, as did the students that I spoke to and following on from that feedback from parents has also been good. Teachers who attended parts of the workshops were impressed with the way that Jay kept the students’ attention and especially impressed with their recall following on from his mindmap. Jay was really positive with the students from the outset, engaging them and setting his boundaries in a firm but friendly manner. The students responded appropriately throughout and Jay kept control of the audience accordingly.
Emily was excellent. She was accommodating and had an excellent style of delivery with the students. She engaged the learners and some of the most challenging students remained engaged and focused throughout the sessions. We are hoping that the year 10 learners will use the methods to prepare for mock exams and the year 11 tutors who were present will continue to work on the methods used with the students.
I would just like to say how excellent yesterday was, the delivery given by Lisa was fun, bouncy, and informative with the majority of students engaging. I have also been made aware that the students left talking about the session. Very well organized, Lisa arrived in plenty of time and set up, had all resources to hand. Excellent session.
The session was very good. The boys had a good session and we hope they start to revise more now and use mind maps to revise.
This was the first time we had done the Mastering Motivation course with our year 10 cohort. We felt it was well suited to them at this point in time. We have gained some valuable insights into how to motivate some students based on their completed info sheets. Tutors have fund this useful. Shenaz blended the content well with some more interactive activities in order to maintain engagement. Shenaz knows us and the school well and always tailors her presentation to the nature of the students on the day. The parents meeting in the evening was well pitched and we have had some very appreciative feedback. Excellent as ever.
Well organised and year group appropriate. Engaging presentation. Presenter was clearly knowledgeable and passionate about her subject matter. Well balanced between factual delivery and stimulating activities. It was a great day for our Key Stage 4 students and for staff. We have had lots of positive feedback from students who picked up a ‘can do’ attitude from the session. The staff welcomed the chance to see what students have been learning and many have already been embedding the proposed revision strategies in their own teaching.
The course covered valuable content for the Year 11 Revision skills. The resources were appropriate without being over burdensome. I hope it will have the impact to support them to better grades. Jay made each session enjoyable for the pupils whilst engaging them with the techniques. We are looking forward to having him back in March.
I was very pleased with Natalie and loved her attitude. She was fantastic. We had over 60 responses from parents about the evening from their anonymous feedback sheets and all 58 were positive to more than positive. All the teachers and myself thought her delivery was brill!
Kim is a fantastic trainer and can really manage the crowd. The Year 11 course was spot on and student feedback has been positive. Staff are keen to use the ideas they witnessed too.
I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank you and Positively MAD for being part of ur SPACE Day (Social, Personal and Citizenship Education) on Friday. Your presentation was thought provoking, inspirational and I know will be impactful in assisting the students in our Year 11, 12 and 13 with overcoming the hurdles they will face during their exam series. The manner in which you presented your message and the strategies you gave them (and also the staff who were in the audience) were practical, underpinned by scientific research, but more importantly....fun. This will be a truly memorable moment in their education. I believe the biggest accolade we can give is that we want you and Positively MAD back to work with our students again this term. I am also exceptionally pleased that you could be the keynote presented for our inaugural Engage Evening. The parents of Year 10-13 who attended were exceptionally impressed with your presentation, and the strategies you shared with them in supporting their child with revision, memorisation and exam stress. I have included their feedback below: "Great useful information-great presentation" "Very informative and well thought out evening. It was very informative and provided useful information" "Fantastic" "Very useful and informative" "Well presented" "Well done LWA. Helping both parents and students in getting ready for the upcoming exams" "Thank you LWA for putting on this event. Looking forward to the next Engage Evening".
Perfect for our needs and has now proved to be successful with pupils They are responding to the changing demands of the GCSEs and these sessions are one major factor that helps them achieve this. Shenaz is excellent and pitches it at the appropriate level for our students
The course was highly appropriate for the students’ current needs and was engaging and interesting throughout. The time passed very quickly. The feedback from students is that found the day ‘excellent’. Jay Shirley is a warm and charismatic presenter who entertained and engaged the students with his routines, explanations and highly energetic and positive demeanor.
The courses were both suitable for our students and kick started their respective revision programmes. Steve was enthusiastic and the Y11 students in particular enjoyed the event.
Excellent – engaged the students and was put together with a fast pace Your comments of the day – very much enjoyed thank you
We thought this was really good. It was practical, active and really well pitched for our students. It engaged them and got them thinking and they left with lots of ideas to help them approach their 6th form studies. Really worthwhile, engaging and positive. A really enjoyable and productive atmosphere.
Shenaz delivered a Goal Mapping and Resilience workshop – both were superb and Shenaz was fantastic. She was able to meet the needs of each student, and ensured everyone was engaged and participated in the activities. The way that Shenaz delivered the workshops was both motivating and inspiring, and throughout each session she remained enthusiastic and energetic. The students valued the workshops and felt inspired to progress, having gained a new perspective on ways to learn and how to achieve their goals. The content in both workshops is truly aspirational! Can I take the opportunity to say, that we have had many guest speakers in for motivation etc. However Shenaz was brilliant, she understood the students very well, and was an inspiration to listen to. This was felt by all the students, and every single student in the group, really enjoyed and engaged in the session. The students learn clear strategies on how to focus, be inspired to progress and ways to gain the best out of their education to support goals and achievements.
Natalie was lively and engaging, staff and students really enjoyed the literacy session. They learnt plenty of skills for improving literacy, planning, and comprehension. Definitely beneficial for our target students.
Kim was fantastic and controlled the room really well. The content was well structured and covered the areas that we had been focusing on during the term and therefore reinforced the message.
The worksheets, resources and tasks provided to the students were very useful and will form a part of our tutorial programme moving forward. Jay was energetic, enthusiastic and pitched his presentation at the correct level for our students. He gave the students breaks when appropriate and struck a good balance between student led work and more directed work.
Excellent event. Students and staff both got a lot out of it and are planning to use the new revision skills learnt. The sessions were great. I would like to book Shenaz for another day in March to come and work with the students.
Our year 8 students had a workshop with Natalie today. The year 8's thoroughly enjoyed the workshop as did our staff! Natalie was fantastic, she had the attention of our students all the way through. We are not sure where she gets her energy.
Superb as always, students felt very positive about the course and application. Kim’s enthusiasm was infectious and students thought her message was very powerful. The day was excellent. We have had several parents feedback how great they thought the twilight session was.
Both courses, the Super Study Skills, Exambusters and Teacher/Parent twilight sessions were very well received and Shenaz was great! The pupils/parents found the sessions extremely beneficial and have gone away with many strategies. Shenaz was great, the pupils warmed to her friendly and enthusiastic personality.
The course was really useful with providing the students a range of study skills and revision tips. The brain breaks were great to allow students to focus back on the information. Many students commented on how useful these ideas would be especially if used in classes as well. Lisa was very professional and the sessions ran really well. The parent’s session was very helpful and the parents that attended were pleased with the information.
Students found the skills and tips useful and the presentation engaging. The session was received as positive and a motivating 'welcome back' start to the new year.
Both courses were very intensive, detailed with lots of good strategies to help combat anxiety, develop resilience and to introduce different methods of revising. 2 very good enjoyable sessions. The Upper 6 in particular enjoyed Rachel’s workshop and felt she communicated very well with the girls
An absolutely fantastic session delivered by Shenaz. Both the staff and students that attended were delighted by the pace, energy and enthusiasm that Shenaz put into the sessions for both years. The students found the workshop extremely useful and we have actually seen a massive difference in the students’ attitude towards learning already in these first days of Sixth Form. We really hope that we can use your services soon to carry on guiding and encouraging our students! Great organization and delivery overall; we could not fault anything!
Enthusiastic presenter - helpful for research.
Natalie delivered the sessions with endless enthusiasm and professionalism. The students were positive about the day and everything ran very smoothly.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our school on Tuesday. Jackie, Rachel and I were very happy with both sessions; which will help ensure our Fifth and Sixth formers will be able to make strong starts to the new academic year. Thank you also for forwarding supporting resources, which will help us with our continuing guidance given to the pupils. They have fed back positively to all of us in recent days. Jackie and I would be very happy to work with you again in the future.
The course was just the right balance of useful information, fun games and great ideas that can be implemented in the classroom. Most importantly it helped all of us to think about how resilient we really are and what we can do to look after our own mental health. Everyone loved Rachel and found her extremely engaging and inspiring. We could feel her passion for what she was doing and it inspired most of us to take serious action to start taking better care of our mental health and wellbeing. After all, how can we look after our students mental health if we don’t know how to look after our own. We will be looking into how we can make use of the Big Top model with the children.
Steve is an energetic presenter and has a good rapport with the students. The mind map activity was particularly powerful as it was interactive and effective - good choice of topic aswell.
Lots of different strategies provided for students to take away and use for their revision ready for their exams. The content gave the students a variety of creative ways that hopefully all of them will use at some point in preparation. Rachel worked really well with the students. Everything ran very smoothly and the structure of the presentation was good. Rachel gave lots of little breaks for discussions and on the spot practical elements to keep the students focused. At some moments there were smalls groups of students unfocused but Rachel dealt with the situation very well to bring them back round.
The Resilience INSET Day was an excellent course and staff were energized and motivated by the training. Kim was a first rate trainer who judged the mood of the staff well and ensured that the day met their needs. The resources provided were spot on and supported Kim’s delivery well. I would not hesitate to recommend this training to anyone. The day was well organized and passed really quickly. Momentum was kept up throughout the day and I can honestly say staff enjoyed every minute.
We thoroughly enjoyed the two sessions which were delivered here at Kings. It was a really hot day but students were engaged and focused. They were able to take away with them several top tips to help them prepare more for the new curriculum and the demands of 100% examination. A great day. Both presenters were engaging and enthusiastic. I am sure that we will use Positively Mad again in the future. Please say a special thank you to Jay and Natalie for such a positive and inspiring day
Rachel’s delivery was excellent, and engaged the students. The materials were a good combination of teaching and practical activities and the content was interesting. Student evaluation of the event was very positive. Thank you Rachel.
• Information was well suited to age group and there was good variation of tasks and stimuli • Content was relevant and interesting • Messages were very positive about how to deal with tough situations, how to be respectful and determined through life • Pupils were engaged for the whole period, listening and participating in equal measure. This was particularly highlighted when pupils were taught how to count to 10 in Japenese – whole cohort were out of their seats and taking part • Presenter was very engaging, funny and used lots of personal experiences to put points across • Presenter interacted well with pupils and the pupils responded well to her • Presenter was enthusiastic and positive • Pupils were engaged and responded well • Shenaz was a high energy, inspirational person who appeared to get the pupils fully engaged in activities. She made learning easy and enjoyable an I’m sure was contributing to pupils’ positive approach • Shenaz had a great rapport with the pupils and they responded well to her
Many thanks to Jay for the Exam Busters sessions provided on Thursday 8th June. The content was excellent and pupils really enjoyed the session. We have received lots of positive feedback on the practical tips suggested and the overall confidence developed as a result of the session. I will be recommending you to the Head of Year 10 for next year to run a similar session in the summer term for their year group.
The staff really enjoyed the training and were inspired by Kim, she was full of energy and had frequent, short brain gym exercise for everyone to follow, which kept us all alert and motivated. Her presentation and delivery was impeccable and really informative, we all gained a good insight into how to make mind maps a key tool for learning in different areas of the curriculum.
Working with Positively Mad was a a very positive experience indeed. Jay was fantastic and the students (and staff) absolutely loved the Study skills workshop he did. So much so that we would like to look at rebooking the workshop. The Resilience work Jay did was also great and he captivated his audience, even though it was Friday afternoon of the last day of term! The booking process was extremely easy and all communication was clear and queries dealt with speed and efficiency, even though it was a last minute booking. We would not hesitate to recommend your services.
Appropriate mixture of revision strategies plus endorsement of learning behaviours and student welfare. Can be pitched to meet the type of students and their responses. Shenaz very quickly establishes positive relationships, engages students and puts them at ease. Shenaz uses what she has learned about our school to make her presentation match our style, values and students. Staff respond well and are included in the sessions memorable for students.
Thank you Natalie for your sessions over the last two days. We hope you felt welcomed by the staff and students here. We are still in total awe of your energy and enthusiasm.
Thanks again for delivering the workshops yesterday. I've had lots of positive feedback from parents and students. Hope to see you again for our workshops next year.
Shenaz really understood our students (within seconds) and tailored her session brilliantly. It was exactly what our students needed and staff were so motivated that they created tools the same evening. Thank you.
Superb. Shenaz is a really well received presenter and the material that she delivered was exactly what we were looking for. Hopefully we can build on the strategies that she has given our learners as they prepare for summer exams.
The course was excellent and the students responded extremely well. I heard only positive comments about the day from the students. The examples of the different strategies they could use were excellent and the way they were employed during the day really demonstrated to the students how they could help them learn. I think the students will remember the main facts about the “Life of Muhammed Ali” for a long time. The way length of the session was exactly right and it fit well in to our school day. Jay led the sessions well and dealt with the students in a mature and respectful way. The way he added real life examples into the session and then finished the session with the importance of gaining qualifications was exactly what some of our students needed to hear.
Thanks again for such a brilliant performance, and for giving our kids the confidence and the skills they needed in order to revise effectively for their exams. They've all used your techniques during their preparation.
The course content was very good, relative for the year 11 students.
Both pupils and parents were positive about the training they’d received and lots of staff are now also keen to use the techniques they learnt. Shenaz and Lisa were both absolutely delightful and couldn’t have been more helpful or flexible in accommodating our timings and exact needs.
Really good ideas. Great that we were given explanations why the ideas could work for us. Many from Years 10 and 11 felt that they would definitely use the study ideas. The presenter/workshop leader was effective because she was enthusiastic and funny (students’ comments). A really good day Shenaz was bubbly, enthusiastic and had a good rapport with the students. She was able to keep the more difficult students engaged and involved which was very positive.
I thought it was great. The students seemed very enthusiastic and a number were still reciting the story Jay taught them the following day. Everything ran smoothly, very pleased.
Natalie was fantastic and the feedback from staff and pupils was hugely positive. It was a great day and our pupils gained a great deal.
High impact, tailored specifically to our needs, a bespoke service – something I haven’t experienced form other service providers. The sessions were well catered for the different levels of learners, really liked how the techniques were then put into practice for subjects the learners are studying. Shenaz was vibrant and positive and enthusiastic, a large number of learners felt the event was valuable.
Fantastic resource which will help all our pupils. Very well presented.
Once again the exam buster session was the perfect Launchpad for our revision programme with Year 11 pupils which started yesterday. The majority of pupils found the session very beneficial and helpful, and feedback has been positive. Steve returned to our school for the second time and despite a difficult crowd during the first session, won them over with his energy and enthusiasm. Would have Steve back in an instant and would highly recommend.
Great course, the students really enjoyed the day and felt they gained a lot from it. Fast paced which kept student engagement high. Presenter Jay was fantastic, managed the students really well even those who maybe weren’t quite so engaged at the start of the day. Really worthwhile day, we did some Pre and Post questionnaires for our students. We asked them to rate their knowledge before and after the course, Got it and Owned it were the top two ratings.
Shenaz was great – lots of energy and able to connect with the students.
“Every member of staff present at the Teacher twilight sessions has shown confidence in applying the strategies shared. Many thanks.”
Shenaz was very flexible and was able to adapt the courses towards different subjects. The students gained some practical and useful skills that they can use across different subjects, it was very helpful to link the strategies to GCSEPod. The students were really positive, enthusiastic and every single one of them participated in each session. A big thank you to Shenaz. Shenaz was an excellent presenter, she was organised and communicated with the students really well.
Excellent. All aspects of the course were beneficial and the feedback from all participants was excellent. Shenaz was amazing at motivating and engaging the students. A very worthwhile experience for the students and for the teachers who attended the sessions.
Shenaz is engaging, has a good understanding of our students and pitches the content and pace well. We like that the course touches on a wide range of aspects for our students – eg revision skills, but more holistic things such as their welfare and how to prepare psychologically for the exams. Shenaz is now a popular figure within school with both students and teachers. Such a positive figure with students.
I felt that the course was well pitched between activities and lecture speaking. Practical strategies were given that have enabled students to extend their repertoire of study skills. Rachel was great in adapting to our timing constraints and she was extremely professional throughout.
Very helpful. All of the pupils surveyed said they would recommend it to younger pupils and that they found it informative. Straightforward and easy to run.
The course was highly attuned to the needs of the children and demonstrated the learning capacity, skills and attitudes to learning clearly and in a highly engaging way. Tools were shared which pupils could access regardless of ability, language, skills or age.
These are the comments of one Year 5 teacher who was in the CA2L session – Links were constantly made to areas of the brain and how ‘we’ use our brains in and out of class. Also emphasis was made towards the children making an active choice(s) to be pro-active with their learning eg not to sit with friends in class, taking their coat off before entering the classroom, wearing the school uniform, leaving break times for chatting and working at home without lots of distractions from technical devices.
The usefulness of a course is its application and useability – the morning session staff had, by the afternoon incorporated the ‘map’ in their session and pupils take their coats off ‘ready to learn’ before entering their class. Therefore a highly successful day was had.
Course was well run and well-resourced and the message was clearly delivered to the children. Leader was lovely and very approachable, really engaged the children and helped them to easily understand a challenging topic.
Thank you for such a positive experience during our Mindwise workshops. Kim was an amazing presenter and everyone really enjoyed themselves. It was really great. The children were so engaged and enthusiastic during the sessions and the strategies seemed to really work. The staff training was also enjoyable and thought-provoking. Strategies for use in the lead up and during the actual SAT’s test were very useful.
Last week we had a great day with Shenaz around Resilience. It was superb for both pupils and staff. We will certainly be booking future sessions and have several actions to pursue, leading from the work done with Shenaz.
Kim was fantastic, the parents, pupils and staff warmed to her enthusiastic personality. The feedback was all very positive regarding the Twilight session. They found the presentation very informative and learnt useful learning techniques. It was a very successful evening.
Fun, inspirational and well worth the cost. Our students enjoyed the sessions, they have not only told me this, but they have gone to many teachers and told them how much they enjoyed the day.
The children were engaged for the whole session, we found the meditation and writing lists of ‘how to be more grown up’ the most useful and hope by using these in school and at home that they will have an impact. Rachel was brilliant, the children were really engaged and this morning were still talking about the workshop. Some children even asked their parents to write down things they have had a go at on their own at home to show their teacher. Thank you!
Absolutely brilliant! Students have learned a lot and will hopefully start now to put all the strategies into use. Shenaz is fantastic - she had a long day yesterday and was still captivating our small band of parents at 6.30 last night. She is such as asset to your organization.
Engaging for all learners. It was good that is was subject based and not generic as the learners could apply the strategies to the topics they are currently revising. Learners really enjoyed the session and were able to identify the techniques that they can use themselves. Jay was enthusiastic and was able to create an excellent learning environment which allowed all learners to engage with the session.
The day was well planned, delivered well with good pace. The time for reflection – workshopping the workshop was useful, enabling colleagues to discuss their application in class. The balance between the theory and more academic understanding and the practical application/strategies was a strength of the day.
An excellent day, which enthused the students and covered a range of topics. The timing of the day was perfect for us, as it kick started the New Year and countdown to the GCSE exams. Jay was engaging and related well to the students.
Excellent delivery of the courses – presenters were full of energy and engaging to the pupils. Pupils (76%) said it was useful and that they would recommend it to the next year 11 year group. Well-structured and run.
Highly motivational and engaging. Shenaz is an outstanding practitioner and a huge asset to your team. The students were engaged throughout and enjoyed the session with her.
Please thank Jay for all his time and energy and skills last Friday. So far 96.9% of year 10 students said that that they would recommend the workshop.
We are regular users of your presenters and this year was to the usual high standard. Steve was engaging and interesting – he delivered a useful and relevant session and we were particularly impressed that he has included the physics equations as requested by one of our staff! 100% positive.
Well planned, informed and a good blend between exam skills, revision strategies, resilience and motivation. Fantastic interaction with students, creating a positive learning environment. Shenaz,Thank you so much for the fantastic day that you ran on Thursday, we were really pleased and I know that the students enjoyed themselves and would have got lots from your energetic style and brilliant strategies. We will be looking at further intervention following the mock exams.
Excellent! The course delivered all I wanted from it. Shenaz was superb and adjusted her delivery to suit the pupils whilst still being able to deliver all the content. Just what we needed, and the discussion it provoked has been very useful for future planning.
The Bridging the Gap session: very well received by students. Tutor feedback was that it was extremely useful. The Motivation session: very well received by students. “surprised at how good it was” “I was dreading it but the advice actually helped us.”Delighted by the two sessions and the student feedback. Sophie came across extremely well to both teachers and students. In fact Sophie was exceptional
The course is a very good one that our pupils engage with year after year. It is full of good ideas and is delivered brilliantly.Sophie as always was outstanding. So enthusiastic and the pupils loved her. Delivers the information brilliantly each year.
Excellent- the course really delivered what we were looking for. Resources were very good as was the presenter. The students were very engaged and enjoyed the whole course. Many commented that they had gotten a lot from the material they looked at and were hoping that it will help them with their exams.
We have had this course delivered for a few years now and keep inviting you back. The content is spot on in terms of what the students need in order to achieve their best. Those students that engage with the activities gain a lot of insight in to techniques to use in an environment which is fun and interactive.Thank you so much for the work Natalie did with our students across the 2 days of being here. Year 10 were especially engaged. Lots of students have commented on how they will be using the techniques they learnt.
Students and staff alike were enthused. As always the mind map stole the show. Tips about memory where valued and the relaxation techniques were appreciated. The presenter was full of energy and wisdom. They established an excellent relationship with students, staff and parents too with all stakeholders really valuing the inspiration they received on the day. A worthwhile day. The school was buzzing with excitement and energy with students and staff feeling charged up to prepare well for exams.
Love Employable You – really good to show the students how important the soft skills are and how they can reduce the chances of failure by prepping and planning. Particularly good for yr13 as their thoughts are turning to long term employment/ University interviews.Mark is an excellent presenter who gets the delivery spot on for the students. He is adaptive and responsive which helps to overcome initial shyness or alternately bullish behavior! Really like having the two sessions, especially following up from yr12 with Employable You for yr13
We thought the course was extremely informative and a great learning tool. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed the day and the teachers and pupils thought Sophie was very entertaining and knowledgeable, she is a great advocate for your company. You should be very proud.
Students enjoyed the course and feedback from staff was very positive. Presentation by Shenaz was excellent – she’s an asset to you.
Thank you for such a fantastic experience. Steve was amazing and we will be in touch about future events!
The Exam buster course was very useful to the year group. It gave a detailed insight into revision skills and exam best practice. Both sessions were engaging. Jay did a great job!
The feedback for the day has been overwhelmingly positive – from parents, staff and pupils. Following the course, Year 11 pupils have already drafted a first timetable this morning so are on track to continue with the enthusiasm and ideas shared by Shenaz during the day. We have seen that the ‘Positively MAD’ days have a noticeable effect on pupils. It plays an important part in our school calendar and provision for pupils and helps to inspire and motivate students as well as give them some practical tools that can be used in class and at home immediately.
Both sessions with Jay went very well and all pupils were engaged. I thought the content of both courses were tailored to the relevant year groups’ needs. Amazingly lots of my LS Pupils could still remember all the detail about Muhammed Ali’s life on Friday afternoon! Both sessions ran smoothly and were timed well. Pupils knew what was expected of them. A variety of tools were used to maintain their interest.
Thank you so much for coming to Westbourne for the day on Monday. Your sessions were really well received by students and teachers. I loved the comments that I had from pupils. “She was not mad, it was brilliant” - year 7 “The story technique really worked, I think I might try it myself” !!! - year 8 “It was really good fun and it was amazing that we could learn 140 things in one day” - year 7
The exam busters course was really engaging/ fast paced and gave the students lots of revision tools. They now need to learn to apply these to their subject areas. The motivational hour was also really good and I know the students really enjoyed the personal anecdotes shared by Jay. I had a meeting with a disengaged student and her mother the following morning and Jay’s motivational session was brought up. The student went home on the evening of the session and spoke to her mum about this; this is especially impressive as they have a poor relationship currently. So far she has really changed her attitude in school due to this. I doubt she is the only one, so thank you! It was a great day which was enjoyed by all of our students. Jay did a brilliant job completing 5 hours of sessions with our girls. I look forward to seeing him back at St Anne’s next year!
Thanks for a great day Really appreciate you being so willing to help us out with such little notice Steve really fab entertaining 137 year 11 pupils for 3 hours!
I am delighted that Sophie was able to come and deliver both the Bridging the Gap and the Motivation courses to our students at Godolphin. The content of the course was excellent – very relevant, meaningful and practical. Sophie’s delivery was exceptionally good. She was undoubtedly in charge of her material and the room! She chose examples and references that our students could relate to, and kept their attention throughout. She was amazingly good at drawing their attention, dealing with individuals when needed and challenging the groups to make the most of their time at school. Extremely useful.
The Super Study Skills, Exambusters and Teacher/Parent twilight sessions were great. The pupils found the sessions very beneficial and have gone away with many strategies to help them with their learning. Sophie was great, the pupils warmed to her friendly and enthusiastic personality.
The course was suitable for the students. This is set up to give students the skills needed to improve in their studies Shenaz was excellent, as usual! You have a really great members of staff here. The students reacted really well to her delivery and her personality is perfect for our students. I look forward to working with her again in the future.
Hi Shenaz, I have some feedback from the last session for you: The Creative Approaches to Learning session was an enjoyable and educational experience for our year 7 pupils. The event was delivered over two sessions with approximately one hundred pupils in each. Shenaz was energetic and engaging throughout as the pupils got to grips with memory techniques and organisational skills. The staff were very complimentary about the content and pace of the delivery with many looking forward to seeing the benefits of these sessions carried through to the classroom. The behaviour of over 200 pupils was excellent, which shows the level of commitment from Shenaz to engage and earn the respect of the pupils. Cheers, Ryan
- Really good short, sharp bursts of information/strategies to keep students on their toes. - Jay’s manner with the students is exactly what they needed and were still talking about what they could remember about Muhamad Ali this morning in school. - The students enjoyed the experience. - Jay was very organized and adapted Exam Busters to suit Yr11 from the Yr10 session.
Thoroughly enjoyed by all students. They saw it as enjoyable, but very relevent Steve the presenter was excellent in both delivery and energy! Resource sheet used by students was great – they did just about the right amount of written work to back up what was being said. Set the scene well for the year for both groups of students. Provided students with some excellent tools for revision/ independent learning. Students were WOW’d by how much they could remember – proof that it worked!
The bridging the gap course was extremely engaging and useful for the students. It had a good balance of interaction and theory. Really positive feedback from the students. Rachel was excellent, very engaging and well planned for the day. I would highly recommend her as a presenter.
Very engaging and easy for the students to relate to. Fun and dynamic the students should have got a lot out of it Shenaz was very motivational and gave the students really valuable tools to take away and use in their studies.
It was really good. The pupils were permanently engaged and the presenter changed pace and kept them on their toes. The tips were useful and perhaps the later techniques were more specific to the older age group. We enjoyed it and it was very useful.
As always, Shenaz was fantastic. The INSETT session for staff was extremely well received - a great way to start the year, motivate staff and get them really thinking of practical ways we can adapt teaching and learning to raise boys achievement. Staff feedback from this session was entirely positive. The student workshops for KS4 & KS5 were equally well received with all students gaining a great deal from the experience. - Thank you very much.
Hello Positively Mad Team, I just wanted to say thank you for an excellent session delivered to our new A level students by Rachel Munns yesterday morning. She was brilliant and very patient with a lot of students on a very warm day at a busy college. We had excellent feedback from the students who really enjoyed the session and picked up lots of tips to help them make the transition from school. I discussed with Rachel an interest in an exam revision technquies session before Christmas and she will follow this up with you. Kind regards,
This course is perfect for students starting their GCSE studies. It reinforces what teachers say to the students but also introduces different techniques and proves to them that it works. This is the third consecutive year we have used positively mad as an induction to year 10 and we will use you again. Excellent. Rachel was enthusiastic and confident in her delivery and adaptable to the reaction of our students. It’s a lot to squeeze into a 2 and a half hours but this helps to keep the students engaged and interested in what they are being told. Thank you
The course was excellent – Shenaz who was the presenter had a brilliant way of delivering the session. She built up a great rapport with the pupils. Our Year 14 pupils got a lot out of the session – they are into their final year of study and were able to see the real benefit of the independent work Our Year 13’s – were slightly different – they are just about to begin their post 16 studies and as a result the idea of independent study was new to them, plus they didn’t have the same level of maturity as the Year 14 pupils. In saying that they still got benefit from the course They are a number of things that the teachers even benefitted from – and in the future we might look at something related to our Junior pupils in relation to study skills. Our main issue is our budget and if we can afford to bring someone over. – overall excellent session. Very worthwhile.
The course was well structured with interesting activities. The presenter really brought the activities to life with her style of delivery and ‘stage presence’. Our students were engaged and contributed well. The day ran very smoothly, and students seemed happy with the event. As said before, I cannot praise the presenter enough. She was excellent!!
It was exactly what the children needed for the day in order to prepare themselves for their return to year six Each child was catered for as they learned more learning approaches to help them with their memory and techniques to increase productivity from the children.
We chose the numeracy and mind mapping workshops which worked very well with the group of students we had and the timetable for the day. All students were engaged and participated in the sessions. Kim was an excellent leader and trainer and her enthusiasm kept everyone going on a very hot day. Kim was flexible in her timings and this meant that students and staff were able to work together easily to ensure the day was a success. Kim recapped all the things the students should have learnt by the end of the sessions and all of them were shouting out the answers demonstrating that the techniques work and that the students had listened and learned well.
Steve was very good lots of energy and dealt with the pupils well The content was well focused and geared towards our needs Pupils were very positive about the session and some stated that ‘ now I know how to revise’ The pupils enjoyed the session and got a lot from it. Thank you
I booked you based on seeing you 14 years ago, I was not let down – it was still as amazing as I remembered. The content was perfect it covered basic ideas but also how they could apply it to their daily life. You took ‘boring’ elements like the order of the planets and made it exciting, fun and achievable. It covered some very high level elements and topics but made it child friendly and accessible to all. The whole day was fantastic. Kim had endless energy that she used to captivate, enthuse and educate the children. Kim’s approach and personality made the children sit up and listen the content of the course made them (hopefully) learn new techniques to become better learners.
Staff were delighted with the fun and interactive nature of the day. Key premises and strategies for making a difference in pupils’ ability to learn and make progress were delivered in an inspiring and enlightening way. All present said they thoroughly enjoyed the INSET provided by Shenaz and gained a great deal from it. The day was well run and well organised.
Another great session delivered by Shenaz! Shenaz offers a bespoke package so that our students really do get the best use of her time tailored the areas they need the most help in. Shenaz is a lively and energetic force to be reckoned with who keeps our students on their toes and remembering her hints, tips and strategies. Would definitely recommend to any school thinking of booking!
Hi Jay, Thank you so much for the work you did with our children last Thursday. With all activities similar to yours it can be hard to measure the effects and even justify the time off timetable. In this case I truly feel that the children benefitted immensely from your inspirational and thought provoking sessions and that the time out of lessons was extremely well justified. Our year 10 cohort are a tough bunch and you kept them thinking and concentrating for a full day. More importantly the feedback that we have had from the pupils has been extremely positive with many pupils stating that they have already used the strategies in their studies. Thanks again, Fraser
I thought the content and the delivery was superb. Rachel kept them engaged and eager to learn more about the different aspects of Numeracy. We had some students who were quite reluctant at first but soon got into the session and were taking part. I also noticed that Rachel was aware that there were different year groups and ability ranges in the room. She would ask questions and challenge accordingly, making the students feel at ease with the rest of the group. Overall, I thought it was great that students went away with skills such as applying mathematics in their daily life and great techniques to use when multiplying, dividing etc.
"I was amazed to see children putting their new found strategies into place straight away. They have a visibly positive reaction when they grasped something new" Year 5/6 teacher "The children left the workshop absolutely buzzing with positivity! They are now armed with strategies and "catchphrases" to take them through moments of academic doubt and uncertainty. Coming as it did a few weeks before SATs, it couldn't have been better timed or more welcome!" Janet Webster Deputy Head/SENCo/Year 5/6 teacher.
Sophie’s presentation was excellent. It was very engaging from the first minute to the last and was equally inspiring to our senior members of staff and our PGCE students on placement with us. The course was very well structured and engaged everyone for every minute of the 4 x 1hour workshops. Everything covered was extremely relevant, current and useful to all staff including TAs and ALN support staff. The course has reinvigorated our whole staff – many thanks.
Shenaz was really amazing, she got down to a level with the children right from the start. Her behaviour management was impeccable and the children really understood everything she had to say. They have remembered everything she taught them and I have tested them today.
Lively and enthusiastic presentations (Sophie was great). The learners gained a range of skills to help them with their exam prep. Wholly suitable for the target audience. Pupils enjoyed taking part and were very positive when giving feedback to their tutors at the end of the school day. Excellent. Pitched the sessions suitably and developed a good rapport with the learners.
Really good sessions, engaging and eye opening in terms of how easy it is to use some of the skills. Some very simple ways of showing the students how they can use these techniques. Most students I have spoken to about it both enjoyed it and got a lot out of it. I have overheard students discussing the session today both in tutor time and at lunchtime. Very energetic, very positive, good humour and engaged the students well for the majority of the session. Spoke to the students using language that engaged them.
The course content was great. I was really impressed at how the students were able to use the information given to them at the beginning and then recall it all several hours later. The skills taught will prove very beneficial to our students and also to staff in school, skills we can build on in the weeks to come. There was a lot of information delivered over the course of the day but not too much for the students to take it all in. Jay, our presenter, was excellent. He quickly got the measure of our students and identified and built relationships with the few who may have become disengaged with the seminar. He was lively and entertaining – all the students are talking about him today. A great session overall, thanks very much!
Hi Sophie I just wanted to say a huge thankyou for your delivery of Friday’s workshops. I am so sorry that I was tied up in organising The Election in a Day for the majority of the day and so could only pop in for a few minutes. However, what I saw was brilliant; relevant, engaging, dynamic and very worthwhile. I have spoken to a few of the girls and they have said how much they enjoyed the day and how useful it was; now they’ll have no excuses to not get straight As in their GCSEs! The two staff who were in with you have also told me how great the day was. I will most definitely be asking you to come back in again. Thankyou again Sophie, you really are one of the best facilitators I have used. Amanda
Positively Fab!!! Sophie and Steve were both first class presenters who kept the children listening, interested and motivated throughout. The content was absolutely relevant. All pupils were enthused and inspired, and the feedback has been, without exception, positive It was easy to book and everything went swimmingly.
Students found it very useful and had an amazing afternoon it was linked to the Mornings events so pupil wanted to be there. Student’s found Rachel every approachable and were engaged for the whole session. Thanks you for the great ideas and motivation the students to play an active role in their own revision. The Year 11 pupils comprehensively enjoyed the experience and came away with a collection of real learning strategies that help them with their exams.
I was a parent that went to one of your workshops. I wanted to thank you once more not only for helping me understand more to help my son's but to thank you for guiding them today. Carry on the good work, I only wish you were around when I was at school, I believe it would have made a difference.
Both Natalie and mark were very professional and well prepared. The pupils were engaged and focused. The pacing was just right. The explanations were well chosen – especially the Mohammed Ali story as its currently in the news but our generation of pupil swill not be familiar with his story. A successful day both the Thur and the Fri. We will look to have the team back next session Thanks.
The course was incredibly useful – the girls took away numerous skills and ideas which suit every different type of learner. Natalie was full of energy and even the usually disengaged students (some of which were determined to not be interested!) became engaged. She has a fantastic command of the room and was approachable and totally un-phased by the volume of students (220 in total).
Unfortunately I didn’t get to attend the course but feedback from colleagues was all very positive – they thought Shenaz was brilliant and she had as much impact on them as she did on the kids. They thought her behavior management was outstanding! Excellent from start to finish – not just Shenaz (who impressed everyone) but the whole origination was efficient and like clockwork. I’ve been really impressed.
The courses were both very beneficial, and Shenaz took the time to adapt these to our requirements. Shenaz was a knowledgeable and enthusiastic presenter who was very well received by the pupils and staff. She adapted the afternoon session to fit in with our requirements and all pupils present enjoyed this session and were all very positive about the benefits reaped from having attended. Everyone who was present have shown confidence in applying the strategies shared. Many thanks. The parents session although with very few attendees was also very thoroughly and purposefully done.
• A range of strategies were covered that were appropriate for all students. • Mind mapping activity was excellent and something that we will be continuing to focus on in school. • Pace was good – The girls enjoyed the Brain gym activities throughout the day. • Jay was an excellent presenter. He also had a ‘good measure’ of the girls and held their attention throughout. He worked hard! • 1 Hour workshops may have been enough for some students. • The Goal Mapping workshop was pitched appropriately for our PP/Low Prior Attaining students and I felt it provided an excellent opportunity to build the girls’ confidence, resilience and self-belief. This is something we can continue with throughout the year. • This is the second time we have used Positively Mad and I feel the girls really benefit from the workshops.
Our staff had a very good training session from Shenaz on Friday February 12 th . She had a very vibrant and engaging presentation style and gave us five learning techniques to enhance memory. She had very good interpersonal skills and made the day fun and very interactive. The communication with Positively Mad was excellent. We are now going to use these techniques to enhance learning in school. We gained a lot from the training. So far we have shared the techniques with our children and parents.
Hi Steve, I would just like to take the opportunity to thank you once again for such a fantastic and inspiring couple of workshops yesterday with our Year 11 students. The activities and ideas were so engaging and valuable to our cohort. They are all still buzzing about the day, which is fantastic to see. I now have 125 experts on the life story of Muhammed Ali too!! It was a genuine pleasure to meet you and I really appreciate your support yesterday with our students. I will certainly recommend you to fellow colleagues in the future. Any resources you can share will also be greatly appreciated. Kind regards, Ryan Oates
It was an excellent day. Students and parents were buzzing for days after your presentation and I am still getting them telling me facts about Muhammed Ali!
Very well delivered, plenty of energy and lots of interaction with students which helped them to engage with new (and not so new) ideas in an exciting way Very positive feedback from students. Staff very happy with range of ideas that were introduced and provided consolidation of what we do…
Useful and practical study skills. Sophie energized and well informed as last year. Students responded well during the parent evening that followed the course. Smoothly organized and well delivered.
We would like to thank Shenaz from Positively Mad for coming in to deliver sessions to our boys, staff and parents. The techniques she used have been implemented since and are having a very positive impact on learning in the classroom. Both teachers and parents were bowled over by her dazzling personality which made learning fun. We would highly recommend Shenaz to any school who wants someone to come in and have a genuine impact on their learners.
The children and staff thoroughly enjoyed both the Creative Approaches to Learning and the Mindwise workshops. We were particularly pleased with how popular Natalie’s twilight session for parents was. Staff have already started practising using some of the learning techniques to support their classes. Great! Natalie was so full of positivity and energy right the way through every single session that the children, staff and parents couldn’t help but learn. Thank you very much.
Shanaz was very enthusiastic and really encouraged our students. She gave them some fantastic learning tips. Her teaching style was fantastic and students quickly warmed to her and felt comfortable to approach Shanaz. She gave excellent learning tool which I have seen the students start to use already.
Sophie was a great presenter – the strategies were extremely useful, students were completely engaged throughout. The course was appropriate and Sophie took the time to check out what we were already doing in school so that she could complement this with her presentation.
Feedback from students and staff alike has been good. Students enjoyed the fast paced style and varied techniques demonstrated and were impressed by the facts they had remembered during the day. Resources were clear, easy to follow and very engaging. Shenaz quickly developed a rapport with the students and engaged them in the activities. Shenaz was punctual, enthusiastic and well prepared. Session timing was good as run up to second mock week is in progress.
We have now used Positively MAD twice; I have been really pleased with the result on both occasions. Holding the focus of 15 and 16 year olds for two hours is not easy, but your presenters are so engaging that the time flies. Ideas are excellent and students take away real practical things they can do straight away. I also believe the day boosts confidence, it shows students they can retain information, they can achieve a lot in a short time; revision can actually be less of a slog. Highly recommend you to others and we will use you again.
Shenaz was fantastic as always. She is accessible for our students and gives them something practical that they can use in the classroom or at home when revising. The fact that teachers attended also meant that they can now embed the tolls and strategies suggested into their lessons to make revision seamless. Shenaz runs bespoke sessions for us which totally meet the needs of our learners in our context. She communicates with our staff beforehand so that teacher and presenter are in total agreement about what the sessions should look like and what the students should take away from them.
On behalf of Marlwood school we would like to say ‘Thank you’ for a brilliant day! Positive feedback from staff and Year 11s.
The course was well structured, engaging and enjoyable. All the staff and pupils involved in the day were fully engaged and highly motivated. The resources provided were of high quality and the course was delivered in such an enthusiastic and exciting way that all of our students had no option but to be motivated. All our students were still talking about the day for the next few days and they certainly all remember the story of Mohammed Ali !!! Our presenter for the day was Shenaz - all I can say was she was exceptional in every way. An absolutely fantastic day which really emphasized and supported our students in revision/memory techniques.
Excellent course – just what we were looking for! Sophie was amazing – really enthusiastic and approachable but professional at all times. Loads of positive feedback received from both students and parents and we are already beginning to use the follow-up stuff in tutor times.
Really good course thank you, relevant to all classroom support staff and teachers present. I have already seen some of my teachers using some of the ideas in their classrooms. This was a really good course for our first day back. Very enthusiastically presented which was vital after New Year celebrations!
Rachel was brilliant and we know the young people really enjoyed the course and gained a lot from participating
The course was particularly appropriate for our GCSE and A level exam pupils. The focus on key revision techniques really was a revelation to many of our students, particularly those of middle to low ability and aspiration. Helping make learning easier is the key to motivating these pupils and your course was able to do that superbly well. Many of the practical tips outlined on the day will be incorporated into our revision programmes and also shared with parents Our day was divided into two to cater for the two halves of a large year group. Each cohort attended a two hour workshop. The varied activities kept all pupils, even the most disaffected, on task and interested throughout. All pupils could see the relevance and effectiveness of the activities being described.
" Our students have just experienced Shenaz, a positively mad trainer. The students were engaged throughout a enjoyed every session. The content was perfect and the delivery amazing, I cannot recommend Shenaz highly enough. A fantastic week, thank you. "
Very engaging for all pupils. Course delivery was set to the ability of the pupils with high levels of expectation regarding Motivation and pupil behaviour. Many positive comments were made by pupils who in some cases were reluctant to take part at first but then realised the whole idea is that they have to have aspirations and they have to work and go after their aspiration to achieve. A very worthwhile event and suitable for the entire cohort
Very energetic and enthusiastic presentation from Steve, who clearly portrayed the importance of study skills, mind maps and revision. An excellent resource for our pupils. A well-structured and paced presentation of value.
Excellent delivery. Very clear and thorough explanations. Students ‘got a lot’ from the session.
This ‘Super Study Skills’ event was well received by all our Year 11 pupils and expertly presented by Steve. The pupils finished the day armed with a range of multi-sensory learning techniques which will hopefully make their study time in the future more effective and even enjoyable! Thanks for the ‘memories’ Steve.
The course was excellent. Pupils were buzzing with ideas and energy by the end of the session. We hope that we can maintain this motivation until the exams and beyond. The course was tailored to our needs and that is much appreciated
Sophie did a great job. The course was motivational, informative and appropriately pitched. Staff, students and parents found it very useful. Very pleased.
The course was very useful and all students were engaged and gave positive feedback following the session. Very pleased with the delivery pace and content.
Another excellent day with Positively Mad. Shenaz, the course leader, led the year 11 and year 10 students through the ‘Exam Busters’ and ‘Super Speed Study Skills’ courses respectively with her useful infectious enthusiasm and sense of fun as well as including hard hitting facts to encourage students to study effectively to get the right grades for whatever they want to do post 16. The students left armed with a wealth of useful ideas about to learn and revise effectively. We will certainly be looking to book the courses again next year
The sessions with Jay were superb. The Bridging the Gap session for year 12 and 13 gave some excellent strategies for independent study and planning work. Our year 11 students raved about the Exam Busters session and can still remember the information used to demonstrate the different revision techniques. Proof for them that the techniques really work! The feedback from parents too was really positive and they appreciated having the opportunity to hear what their children had heard and being able to work with them in maximising their revision sessions.
We found the course very useful, we are currently planning on delivering a session in today’s whole school CPD slot showcasing the different ideas that Shenaz went through with the students to ensure the staff can help them with the ideas they are starting to implement in their personal revision We all found Shenaz to be a breath of fresh air, and a very energetic one at that. Our students and staff were so motivated by her that the morning session students were talking positively about their experience all day. I also found the course very straight forward to organise and communication with the company easy to manage.
Just wanted to drop you a quick line to thank you for your presentations yesterday. Thought they were pitched really well and you had a great manner about your presentations which I know the students warmed to. We were really pleased with the “Employable You” workshop which we had not had before and will definitely do a double booking again with the Bridging The Gap.
Our year 11 students thoroughly enjoyed the Exam Busters session led by Rachel Munns and were pleased to see her back as she had visited them 14 months earlier. The students are putting the skills into practice as they are busy preparing for their mock examinations. Although the girls were very tired at the end of a busy term, the interactive and inspiring style of presentation was just what was needed. Many staff have passed on their thanks and positive comments about the staff session; not just about the content but also about the quality of the presentation. Only yesterday a subject leader spoke to me about using the mind mapping skills with a year 9 group. We will certainly be booking again for next year. Many thanks to Rachel, we look forward to seeing her again.
Excellent once again, pupils thoroughly enjoyed it, well delivered and well suited to the needs / age range it was delivered to. Very useful session for both year groups and Jay once again kept them motivated and engaged.
The delivery was excellent and the students were highly engaged and motivated. The parents and Teacher sessions were equally well received. The material was exactly what we had asked for and the comments from the students support this. Student comments were: Overall, I found the sessions to be rather informative and useful.- I would like to thank the school for asking Shanaz to come in to Ysgol Gyfun Emlyn, thus providing an excellent opportunity to further develop our revision techniques..- Amazeballs 8/8 gr8 – George - Loved the sesh xxx - Inspiring and motivational. - Learnt and new skills Was brill- Learnt a lot - Motivational and fun - Very Helpful - Inspired me to revise - Inspiring, motivational, amazing, helpful, eye opening, scary, funny - Funny and good fun – very helpful - Starting to revise ASAP - They need to be here for longer - It was very helpful and I will be using most of the techniques that were mentioned - It was helpful and I enjoyed and I will use the techniques - I think the students have pretty much nailed it.
We had an incredibly productive day when 'Positively Mad' spent presented to our Year 7. Shenaz was engaging and professional with the youngsters whilst instilling some key memory techniques and mind-mapping skills. The aim was to settle the new pupils into our way of establishing independent learners whilst showing that education is accessible to all. Shenaz was superb at keeping the pace and content relevant to our school. The parents' session was particularly well attended and it gave us the chance to share the experience the children had with their parents. We pride ourselves on strong parental support and were delighted with the way Shenaz presented to them: they were involved in some activities and fully on board with the key messages of home learning and independence. Thanks to 'Positively Mad' and, in particular, to Shenaz for an excellent day. See you again soon.
“Very Good. The students thoroughly enjoyed the day and clearly loved being involved; the 2 presenters were excellent. Well organised and well structured. The students gained a lot from it and this can be incorporated into their learning.”
The students I spoke with briefly found Natalie’s presentation engaging and stimulating and a number of them spoke about the techniques learnt in their lessons today. The initial mind mapping exercise was particularly well received.
The Exam Busters course provided some very useful tips on memory and revision techniques. It was interactive to an extent which meant that the majority of students were able to engage.
The course content was good and provided teaching staff with a wide range of strategies to support teaching and learning. We are already putting some of these into practice. The Literacy and Science sections were particularly good and we could see other areas of the curriculum in which we could apply these strategies.
I thought Shenaz was really engaging and she worked well with the young people that came to the session, she kept them engaged (which isn’t easy) and it was an enjoyable session.
Excellent presentation as per usual! The pupils enjoyed thoroughly and will hopefully be able to utilize the skills they used during the upcoming mock exams. The parent session was also very informative. Received great written and verbal feedback from pupils and parents.
We felt the course was useful and very enthusiastically and energetically presented. Shenaz has a great rapport with the students and engaged even our most demotivated students.
The presenter was engaging and showed students a variety of ways to continue their learning beyond the classroom. What particularly stood out for me was how taking ownership for one’s own success was in the opening part of the gentleman’s address to the students. I was thoroughly impressed with the presenter’s enthusiasm and the quality of his presentation materials. I would highly recommend it and I have already sent a copy of the brochure given to me by the presenter to a friend and colleague of mine who heads up a Sixth Form in Lymm.
It was really good, all of the pupils were engaged for much of the time, which is no mean feat on a warm day with a gym full of 15 - 16 year olds.
Jay provided excellent training for our students. Nothing but positive comments so far.
Brilliant, enthusiastic presenter. They did really enjoy the day and there new slogan in the school is GO MAD.
A good overall course – well delivered
This course will improve our students’ confidence with revision and was very useful.
The course was well received by the students due in large part to Sophie’s lively and enthusiastic presentation. All elements were useful and relevant and there was good pace to the day’s activities. I am confident that students will make use of the various strategies introduced during their time in the sixth form. Many thanks for the ease of booking the event and for delivering the course itself.
Informative and inspiring in equal measure – a great start to the day/year. Thank you Steve was excellent – he was committed, professional, funny and engaging. A great day.
I saw the first ‘bridging the gap’ course – I thought it was extremely well delivered, very visual, very easy. Shenaz had hold of her audience even though here were 150 of them.
Very positive and motivational. Students seem to be engaged and get a lot out of it as they were taught new techniques and how to think about things differently.
It went really well and the vast majority of students enjoyed it and found it useful Well organized and lived up to your publicity.
Mark was great and the students responed positively to him. The staff thought he was brilliant.
We booked the course because we knew what we would get. Following a session with Rachel Munns last year, we knew we would get important study skills delivered to our students in a fun and memorable way. The style of presentation is quite different to what the students experience every day but the skills and techniques covered are useful in all lessons. Steve was an excellent presenter and lived up to our high expectations having had Rachel last year. We would definitely be very happy for him to come to our school again.
The sessions were very enjoyable. The students where very positive about the information they had learned and the activities they were taking part in. The showed in great pride how they had stored information during the mind mapping session. The mix of class room based and physical activity kept the girls happy and interested. Shanaz and Laura who ran the activities where absolute brilliant. The staffs were very intuitive and picked up issues with the girls and along with staff put steps in place to work with the girls. They built great relationships with students and staff. I would highly recommend then again. The ladies time management of activates really kept the summer school on track. The students enjoyed working with them so much they wanted to bring the staff on the trip with them.
Excellent presenter, content engaging and interesting – students were very positive about the session.
Dear Kim, Below is a letter written by one of our year 7 students: On behalf of Montsaye Academy, we would like to thank you for showing us new ways of how to learn and making us laugh. The best part of the year 7 workshop was where we had to learn the names of the European countries. The year 8's told me that they loved their workshop too! We look forward to using the new techniques you taught us when learning and revising for our tests. Thank you very much, Kuba Plotek (year 7) Kind regards, Claire Keel
• Students were engaged • Set at right level for most students • Good range of numeracy skills practiced
Our students thoroughly enjoyed the sessions and there were many positive comments. Natalie was positive, engaging and held the students attention very well.
We were really happy here at Light Hall with the Super Speed Study skills day and the fact that Rachel had tailored it just right to create a bespoke package to match our students’ needs was great. A very positive presentation with lots of good skills and techniques that pupils will be able to use again and again. The presentation was well organised and well delivered. Rachel pitched the delivery just right for our Y10 students and was able to adapt the two sessions dependent on who was in front of her. Definitely something that we will be looking at incorporating into our calendar for next year!
Fabulous – really interactive and engaging. Shenaz was fabulous with some extremely challenging students. The range of techniques for revision was especially useful – and several students (media) were particularly impressed with her subject specific knowledge. This will be great for a train the trainer in June with follow ups (now A-levels are linear)
All of the staff and children I spoke to enjoyed the day and had a lot of fun. It was evident form the sessions I was involved in the children learnt lots of new facts they couldn’t recall prior to the strategies used in the sessions. I think the staff and children actually shocked themselves in how many facts they could recall! Some of the comments shared by staff and children ‘A very energetic and enthusiastaic teacher’ ‘Had lots of fun’ ‘I loved it’ ‘I remembered a lot of new things’ ‘I wish she was my teacher’
Shanaz was able to offer bespoke support to a range of students, particularly as she now knows even more about our context, our approach and our students. The pupils really benefited from the day and felt as though they were given special treatment in their final preparations. The day ran smoothly and Shenaz never had a moment’s rest! A girl even came to see her during lunch time and Shenaz went straight into an after school session. It’s a great partnership that we have going and I can’t wait to see it continue to develop and grow.
Shenaz delivered 5 workshops focusing on individual subjects and allowing students to create their own revision resources. She continued to enthuse the students and build a rapport with them and, despite feeling unwell, was keen and enthusiastic throughout the day.
Steve was very good – keen and effective. He had a difficult job and won them over. The students really liked what he did and I was impressed by the resources that he used. I will send on some feedback from a member of staff who was in there too – who sent it to the head. Steve was mellow and self-sufficient. He had everything ready, arrived early to set up and frankly managed the entire day himself.
Kim was fantastic, The students were really engages during the 2 hour talk and the small group that had extra support for mind mapping in the afternoon spoke very positively of the session and that they would use the ideas to help them revise.
The courses were really beneficial to our learners. The learners really enjoyed the approach of splitting the work up into chunks and being active in between, this is an approach we will use again! The information given to learners was appropriate for our learners. Staff who participated in the activities said they found the workshops useful. Both Sophie and Rachel were fantastic, extremely professional and caring towards our learners. Their delivery was enthusiastic and interesting, we’d love to have them back. ?
The feedback from students has been overwhelmingly positive. Students have commented on how they have used the techniques shown to them on the day to enhance their revision in order to make it purposeful. I feel in will be valuable for us to re-visit this again and definitely with our year 10 cohort. The teachers present at the sessions all agreed that it was well paced and targeted.
Great course, brimming with useful ideas and caters for all students. Wonderful!!! The boys were truly inspired and went away determined to put into practice what Rachel had shown them. I believe it did indeed Make A (HUGE) Difference!!! Rachel is an amazing presenter who had the boys’ full attention at all times.
The courses we booked were exactly what our students needed at this stage of their examination preparations. Shenaz was outstanding; her delivery and enthusiasm were quite exceptional and she maintained engagement throughout the 2 x 2 hour sessions. The content was pitched to the correct level and Shenaz engaged students of all abilities for the duration of the day – no mean feat!. Resources were extremely well prepared, relevant and engaging. 10/10! Thank you! Exceptional – I would highly recommend these courses to any academy/school.
Sophie has been outstanding throughout the last two sessions. During our most recent session Exam Busters, Sophie used student’s prior knowledge from Study Skills to further develop their knowledge and awareness of how to learn, study and revise for exams in the most effective way. Sophie has a positivity which is infectious in staff, students and our parents enabling each of them to take the most out of her sessions. She has the rare ability to engage groups of students and parents for up to two hours using a variety of teaching and learning strategies to encourage the most reluctant students to learn.
The course was perfect for what I wanted it to achieve (provide students with revision/memory tools). Steve was energetic and enthusiastic, something our students found engaging. Excellent workshop that provided our students with tools that Steve proved worked through the clever delivery of content. It is definitely something we would look to run again next year!
Thank you so much for your presentations today. The staff thought they were first class. Hopefully at least 90% will use these techniques to achieve their target grades in their GCSE's and in any future exams. Two boys from the afternoon were walking the school at 3.40 with a pen and paper (!) asking staff to recommend revision books for their subjects. I am sure the effect will be long lasting Thanks again Steve
I can't thank you enough Shenaz, the kids are absolutely buzzing...one of my more difficult ones has just come bouncing into my office with a mind map saying "I know it!!!!" and has just given me chapter and verse about the history ofimmunisations, I hugged her, we are all delighted! I've just done a pp for my assembly on Monday which I've attached...hopefully it will remind them what they've learned and I'll also give out the sheets too! Thank you again, you are a fabulous presenter and worth every penny!
Exam Busting once again went down superbly with the majority of our students, providing them with some of the skills they will need as they prepare for their examinations. Steve was excellent in his delivery and we would welcome him back next year with open arms – he was superb. His enthusiasm and excellent delivery rubbed off on the pupils. By tying the day in with the pupils receiving their examination timetables I felt that the day was the perfect kick start in to the tough weeks and months ahead. Would not hesitate to book again.
A powerful and dynamic lead from Shenaz was key to success of the day; it really brought home the need to revise but actually made it clear what revision actually is. Students were motivated by the presentation.
Excellent course – outstanding presentation and engagement from Jay – feedback from pupils outstanding. Parental feedback very positive both from their children and those who attended the twilight session.
Excellent course, highly suitable for our learners. All learners were focused and engaged in the activities, they remembered things they were taught the next day! Specialist staff who attended enjoyed the activities and felt they could re-use the information provided and techniques. A fantastic, high energy day, Rachel was amazing! I would thoroughly recommend to any school, can’t wait for your return next week for the Study Skills and Mastering Motivation courses!
I feel that the course is very beneficial to students and delivers ways that students can in enhance their learning in a fun and dynamic way. Again, there were very positive feedback comments from both staff and students regarding the day, content and facilitator Kim.
The exam busting workshop was both engaging and relevant. The majority of staff and students alike found the course very useful with some excellent tips on how to revise for their G.C.S.E exams. Student engagement was high throughout the course, mainly due to Shenaz’s outgoing personality and the fast pace of the course. An excellent and worthwhile day which provided pupils with useful revision tools for their final examinations.
Both the Exam Buster and Super Speedy Skills workshops were excellent. The students found them very useful and we even had some mindmaps produced today, using ideas from the workshops. Steve was excellent, his enthusiasm was infectious and kept our students engaged throughout. Giving workshops to two whole year groups in one day was very good and the parents twilight session was very useful and informative too.
Hi , it was an excellent day. Rachel was superb. Parents, teachers, pupils all made really positive comments. For example one member of staff emailed me to say it was the best bit of inset she had done in many years. Some of our more challenging pupils actually came up to me after to thank me for setting it up! Rachel really engaged with all of her audiences and did a fantastic job. I really can't praise her enough. Thank you.
I really enjoyed the course as a teacher and a tutor. It taught me a number of new strategies to support the young people that I work with. I discussed with Natalie how important key words or ‘buzz words’ are for those taking GCSE PE and how these methods could help them to pick up easy marks in tests. It will be interesting to see which kids take on the advice and use some of the imagery techniques to help them. I have heard a lot of positive feedback. The kids seemed to enjoy the day and I hope that they took a lot away from it. Thank you Tim White - Head of House The material was very appropriate and interesting for the year 10 students. I think some students has genuinely thought about using some of the techniques to study already which is excellent. The students remained engaged and there were a variety of activities to ensure all learning styles remained focused. The delivery of the course was very enthusiastic and it is evident that the course is well planned with excellent resources. Gemma Smyth - Business Studies NQT
Your sessions were very well received by students and the Ofsted team were also very impressed.
Hi, I have done my own evaluations and taken the highlights from it.
There was no negatives or improvements given on the 135 forms I received back.
Here are the main positives: •Showed us ways to help revise •It helped and was really good. •Good tips to help with exams •Learnt about positive thinking •New, good, helpful strategies for revising efficiently. •Very enthusiastic and engaging •Helped motivate us •Mad Mark was great. •Memory exercises were useful •Remembering 45 facts on Muhammed Ali •Showed us good revision techniques.
I know Lou has thanked you as our lead of the respective area in which you worked with our students last week but if I may also add my sincerest gratitude as Principal. The sessions were very well led according to my team and the feedback from the students has also been extremely positive as well. At such a critical time of their schooling such input should never be underestimated and we are sure what they learnt last week will indeed feed into their final 16 weeks of Year 11 and as they build up to and move through their summer examination period. Thank you again Sophie and we look forward to welcoming you back to Bexleyheath Academy at some point in the future.
We thought Shenaz was really good, very motivating and the way she presented different tasks was great. Even staff learnt a new way of mind mapping! The girls were on the whole very good, with the Y11s more focused than the Y10s. Shenaz kept them focused and involved. The girls responded well and we believe that a lot of them will take away methods to help them. Shenaz was very good and had a fantastic manner about her when delivering the content of today, despite her cold!
I was grateful for the talk this morning I would like to thank Steve for making me think about the future. We all learnt something today because you have a very unique way of teaching. You made us laugh and think at the same time I would like you to come back and see us again and show us more thanks you again #steveiscool
Thanks for everything last Friday. I thought you were really likeable in your interaction with the students (and to me and the staff too, of course!) and we enjoyed having you in to deliver the students. Great sessions!
English session – really pleased with this, worked very well and both students and staff involved enjoyed it.
Steve was a great presenter and really enthused the pupils. Parents at the parent session all said how useful and valuable their session was. Brilliant day that thoroughly engaged and invigorated our pupils. Thank you.
The course was lively and Steve did well to keep their interest and the girls learnt or reinforced some good memory skills. The delivery was lively and exciting again and we have had a very positive response from the girls. All in all a very good day, we just wonder how Steve can perform at that level all the time even watching him was exhausting!
Some really engaging ideas suggested that staff and students have already taken on board. I have still been quizzing students today about what they remember about Mohammed Ali and they can tell me all sorts. A parent also stopped me at the end of the session last night as her son had been absent that day and she was worried that he had missed out! I have also received lots of positive comments from staff – some have even started incorporating the strategies into their lessons today. Others have said that they will refer back to them in assemblies. Shenaz was amazing and staff and students really were inspired by her and loved her engaging style of delivery. The day ran really well and we will certainly be in touch for future events.
The course content is highly appropriate and we will want to repeat these sessions next year. The presenter was very well received by the students and I have had a number of very positive comments back from student, staff and parents.
Great content and superbly delivered by Jay. Couldn’t have asked for better. Very impressed by the skill with which he delivered to 180 students. Really pleased that 3 year groups benefitted and that Positively MAD were able to be flexible with content and timings to suit our collapsed timetable day. Initial feedback from staff and students has been great.
The material was excellent and Rachel was very good. She was punctual and brought all her own equipment. She had a lovely positive manner and the majority of our students engaged with the session and learned from it. The evening session for parents was good too and parents were grateful to have the opportunity to find out what the students had been learning.
It was a very engaging course and the students participated fully. The students thought it was going to be boring and were truly surprised at how much fun it had been. Sophie was excellent with the students. We are now looking at how we can build on the techniques presented to further enhance the students’ performance. Sophie was excellent, turned up on time and was very organized and interacted really well with the students. She took time to talk to form tutors later who had been in the presentation.
Both days were excellent and our pupils got so much out of this, which we will build upon when we do internal revision with both year groups. Mark was superb, so personable and worked so hard with our pupils, and our staff also got a lot out of the day.
Thank you very much – the course was once again excellent & exactly what we wanted for our Y11 students. Im sure they got a lot from it & we will continue to reinforce the revision & exam techniques throughout the year. Thanks again – we love working with you & look forward to seeing you later in the year for our Y10 booking & also again in the future!
The course is very beneficial to the students; the students enjoyed the mind mapping activity and have started to use them in lessons as a revision resource. I enjoyed the learning about the revision techniques too, such as the illustrations to help revision, different colours and mind mapping. I will be implementing them into my teaching and ensuring recap over work at least 5 times throughout the course so students remember it. The day was good, all students were engaged and behaviour was good. With the large amount of students in the hall the day went extremely well considering. All students took a lot from the day.
Below is a paragraph written by students of Heathside for their Newsletter : Positively MAD (Making a Difference) is a study skills programme in which Sixth Form students participated to help when it comes to revision time. We learnt many different skills in order to remember information such as practical applications to revision like creating actions in order to remember words. We were also taught the key skills of speed reading, a very useful skill, and how to construct mind maps in a way that helps learning/memorising key information. This was a refreshingly useful and rewarding experience that captivated the attention of us all and of great benefit.
Natalie had a very good rapport with the students and they responded very well to her. We were impressed with her presentation, enthusiasm and commitment.
Excellent techniques and advice for our students and delivered in a dynamic and energetic way. The girls found the strategies extremely helpful. They wished they had known about them earlier in their school life. All the girls were very positive about the day and some girls from Year 10 who had participated a session earlier in the year came down to see Rachel to let her know how the mind mapping had changed their life with regards to revision.
Very effective – Year 11 were very positive and some went on to the next lesson using the techniques The explanations struck home with Year11 and they could not believe how much of Mohamed Ali’s life they remembered. Just right with the timing. Brain gym and change of activities kept the interest.
Find it a very useful and engaging course. Good to get students to broaden their thinking about revision/ learning now doing it at a higher level than GCSE Good to have short snappy activities which gets students “moving” and time to defocus before refocusing! Good speaker (Sophie Stiddard) – enthusiastic, presented clearly and well with good humour
Excellent again this year. Kids very receptive. Already had my Yr 11 using mindmaps in their revision! Going to reinforce reviewing now!
As usual the presentations from Jay were very useful for our students and we feel this is a positive experience for them and it keeps them engaged.
The course was really well structured and allowed students to focus in on clear and simple techniques that they can take away and use in their A Level studies. The Goal Mapping session fitted well with the earlier Bridging the Gap session to provide some excellent ideas to students that they can use. The overall feeling from both students and the staff present was very positive. Rachel was excellent – well prepared, knowledgeable, with a relax, yet purposeful style – an excellent presenter. She was also able to hold the students’ attention for the whole session (no mean feat with 100 students for 4 hours!!).
Jay’s enthusiasm, knowledge of the strategies, techniques and tips was excellent and was exactly what we were looking for at this time in Year 11 for our students and parents. It’s testament to Jay and the workshop as to how many pupils had told their parents about how much they enjoyed it and how useful they found it that some students were calling and texting their parents during the school day to say ‘Mum/Dad you need to come to the Parent’s workshop this evening!’ The strategies were relevant, easy to use, engaging and delivered in a way which will facilitate the students use of them as well. It was great to be given some resources by Jay in order to support the pupils through the revision process as the year goes on as well. I will look to rebook this event for next years, Year 11 at a similar time.
Rachel was brilliant, really lively and engaging throughout the day. The students learning a lot of new techniques to help them revise in the up-coming months. I think they were surprised about how much they could recall. We had a great day and I am now looking at ways to ensure that these techniques are used by students and endorsed by staff.
The course was well received by our students and all students asked have reported that it was very useful and worthwhile. Indeed, some of them have tweeted to that effect. Since Monday I have seen staff using some of the techniques in lessons which is brilliant and shows immediate impact. Students can remember all the facts about Mohammed Ali which proves to them that the techniques work. Various staff were in there during the day and we had a staff session at the end of the day. The response from them is also positive. I was also personally impressed with how Jay interacted with our students. He “won them over” very quickly and, of course, this meant they got much more from the day. Your comments of the day Very well organized and well run by Jay. There were at least 4 staff present at all times but they didn’t have to do anything as Jay commanded the hall very well (and we have delightful students!) . Given that they had a whole day of it Jay did really well to hold their attention. They have reported that he was “mad” which, of course, fits with your branding! The day was well structured with regular brain breaks to keep the students going and this worked well.
Thank you very much for sending Kim to us again. She is so easy to get on with and is brilliant with all age groups. It was particularly busy when she was here as we were getting ready for Open Day and she took everything in her stride and just put up with us all! I am not going to be here when you next come as retirement beckons but I am intending to recommend that we continue to book you on alternate years so that all the children get a chance to take part in the different course as they move up through the school. Please pass on our very best wishes to Kim and thank her very much for being so brilliant for the 2 day she was with us. Staff were very impressed too and I have already heard some of them have set work using mind mapping. With best wishes, Liz
Very good content and the sixth formers learned a lot. Mark delivered the course very well, was approachable and the sixth formers related to him well. Looking forward to the next presentation. A very positive experience.
An engaging course containing very useful guidance and advice on effective studying. Staff who attended the sessions with students found its content very interesting and engaging. The course was delivered in a friendly, clear, respectful and purposeful manner. The day ran very smoothly, and all students responded positively to Sophie’s presentations; appreciating that the session was worthwhile. We appreciate Sophie’s willingness to accommodate our needs in terms of time constraints and numbers.
It was upbeat and positive. It was nice that the students were engaged and shown just how they need to use techniques to their advantage. All staff involved were complimentary about the subject matter and the manner with which Mark conducted himself. It was nice that the students had the time to trial the techniques and had a reminder of what was covered with them when they left.
Great presenter, very enthusiastic delivery with valuable techniques the students can take away with them. I liked the flexibility of what to include in course material.
Thanks for your efforts today - all was well received and I think that it gave the students a number of strategies to consider utilising in the coming months. The pitch and pace were fine so thanks again.
We loved the day. We thought that Jay was very engaging and both students and staff enjoyed the sessions he delivered. We were able to take strategies from the training to support our students and staff have talked passionately about the grid strategy for revision and the mind mapping. As a pastoral team we are going to use the reflective ‘what have I done well this week’ with all of the students.
A really useful course, lots of fantastic techniques which we are hoping to embed into students and teachers practice. We will definitely look to run this course same time next year with our new students. Sophie was great! She dealt with the incident and obviously has lots of experience in handling groups of students! She was fun and made the training interactive and informative.
Just had a fantastic couple of workshops from Rachel that went down very well with the sixth form. Rachel worked really hard to make sure the students got the absolute maximum out of both sessions and we are very grateful to her for helping us with our sixth formers.
We were extremely happy with the course content. We have been delivering the induction program ourselves for the past few years and it was very similar but it is all in the delivery. Rachel was superb! She had our students’ full attention and the she got across her messages loud and clear. We are looking in to booking the Exam Busters session for our year 11 students as well as having you back next year to provide the positive and inspirational start to our KS4 students.
Generally the feedback was very positive from the students and they were introduced to some new techniques which I know that staff who were in the presentation have used with their groups
I was very pleased with the two courses which I booked. All of the staff involved remarked on how well the pupils engaged with what was going on, and the feedback I received from the kids was overwhelmingly positive. The two sessions hit the brief for our Summer School 100%; They were fun and the pupils learned lots of new skills and ideas.
Evaluation is based upon 1:1 interviews with 8 Year 11 school council representatives The feedback from the focus group and from Year 11 in general following the event was extremely positive. · Use of colour and the instruction to use colour in revision sessions · Already used the story telling and the mind mapping in revision · Felt active and involved and felt like the whole session only lasted for 1 period. · Recall 5 times and learn forever has been used a lot · Relevant to a lot of different subjects · Presenter was amazing and made it all really interactive.
Always useful for the students to gain experience from outside agencies. We are very lucky to have such a positive relationship with you and really enjoy your sessions. They are always pitched at exactly the right level and you do very well to deliver them to such a large group of students. Well run. Efficient. Fun. Informative.
Brilliant. The materials were pitched at exactly the right level for our pupils – they were kept amused and challenged throughout. Pupils enjoyed the session enormously and many have been to tell me today how amazing it was
Fantastic course! All students enjoyed themselves and got a lot from the day. Steve was a total professional and excellent to work with. Diolch!
Natalie’s energy was magnificent. She was able to engage both Year 10 and 11 year groups for 2 x two hour sessions- very impressive! Students were able to take away some ideas for their own personalized revision tool kit. Activities planned were varied, there was a great pace to each of the sessions.
Natalie was excellent – her enthusiasm and passion were really clear, and this rubbed off on the students. They were all really positive about the content and the course leader. Communication with Natalie before the event was really easy, she arrived early in the morning and was adaptable to our requests! 10/10!!!
The event was excellent and Karim was an excellent presenter. Some of our girls were apprehensive to begin with however many of them said what a useful learning session it had been. There has been evidence of the girls using the techniques since. It was a welcome opportunity for the girls at a very stressful time of their school career – pitched really well by Karim
Students found the course valuable and there was lots of positive chat about it the following day. It provided lots of good ideas for revision and methods to helps cope with exams. We have followed this up with an exam busters board in school to remind students of some of the techniques.
The exam buster course was insightful and relevant to Year 11 students who are due to embark on the most important period of their life. The techniques used were easy to recall and provided students with an added confidence. There was a real buzz around the year group following the course. Shenaz was a great presenter and gave students a different voice regarding how to get the best of their exams.
Your comments on the course I felt that the course was appropriate for what we wanted to achieve with our students. It covered ways of revising and also important points to remember when revising e.g. where, when etc. It was also interactive as the students had to complete the sheet throughout the session which meant that they had a reminder to read through after leaving the session I felt that the presenter was very approachable and friendly. He related well to the students (and there were some difficult ones in there) as they all took part in the sessions. Please thank Steve for me
We had an exams buster workshop delivered yesterday by Shenaz and I wanted to let you know that we were very pleased with the content the delivery and the way she worked at engaging and enthusing the group. She adapted the session from the 1st to the 2nd cohort as she “read the room” really effectively. The vast majority of students will have come away with something positive to use, so many thanks. The student feedback has been positive and the teachers who were in the room also feel they benefitted.
It was a fantastic day - thanks Jay and the team.
A really enjoyable and useful day. I was impressed at the way in which Shenaz was able to hold the students attention and keep them focused. There was no need for intervention from our staff on behaviour as she was so skilled at managing them. We were also impressed at the way that students were able to recall information so easily & this is what many of our students desperately need help with. They work hard & behave fairly well, but they struggle to memorise things for exams. I know how successful she was with them, as there were a few potentially very difficult students in the sessions, but she held their attention – and on a Friday afternoon!. Thank you very much
The course was brilliant with the pupils taking a lot from the day. Jay was excellent the pupils took to his style of presentation very quickly. There has been a real buzz in the school too. I am confident this will mean a more positive attitude towards their revision. Timing was excellent. 100% attention from the pupils at all times. Parents took something from the afterschool session too.
The vast majority of the pupils involved in the course were very positive about it. They found Karim to be an entertaining and thought provoking teacher/presenter and they were fully engaged for the whole of the sessions. I have also received very positive feedback on the session from the staff that were involved and I personally am very impressed. One pupil asked his teacher if he could go into the second session as he had enjoyed it so much and was worried in case had missed something. I have attached a summary of a survey that I carried out on a sample of the pupils involved in the day.
Fantastic day, Jay was amazing pupils were buzzing with ideas.
Informative and very useful information for young people to revision techniques to help them in their exams and young adult life in fact. Students loved it so here’s hoping they use these techniques to better themselves and their results and school work in the future. As ever Rachel “Positively Fab” on presenting to the young people. I was on the same bus as some of our students that afternoon going home and all they talked about was what they had learnt and how easy it was to learn the “Rachel” way!! Music to my ears as I knew this was productive after all taking them out of lessons all day! Thank you for Year 10 at Our Lady’s and myself, Lynne Whitaker.
Can I just say how we all enjoyed our Positively Mad experience. It was booked with the hope that we would get an external provider who would inspire our staff to focus on their teacher craft, rather than have a day looking at things like planning and assessment. The course was very interesting, especially learning about the different sides of the brain and the need to review learning regularly (something we probably know but forget to do or run out of time.) Comments of the day; ‘I thought the Inset was very good, I liked that we had a go at all the things Natalie was suggesting and she gave us time to talk through the ideas.’ ‘I thought it was great. It was delivered in such a way that you couldn't not share Natlaie’s enthusiasm. I taught the Maths lesson we planned (area and perimeter) to my 'too cool for school' set and they loved it and asked to sing the song again today! I also thought it was great to do a course that didn't leave me feeling like I had much more work to do but it gave me so many ideas that I could just pick up and run with. Super! :)’ ‘I thought it was excellent- engaging, relevant and gave me new ideas I'd not considered before. I'm already using more breaks and am planning to use memory stacks to learn parts of a plant in Science next week!’ Thank you Siobhan McGann Deputy Head of Connaught Junior School
The course was excellent as always and Natalie’s presentations were inspiring and very motivational for all. A great success
Many students were pleased with the techniques they had been shown. The mind mapping exercise was particularly well received. Students saw the value of this as a good method to incorporate into their revision sessions. A really useful day for students, staff and parents alike. Thank you.
Just want to say a massive thank you for the sessions Karim ran at our school yesterday.Staff, pupils and parents were very impressed with the content and delivery of the sessions. Some of our pupils are difficult to engage but Karim engaged and motivated them.I really believe it will make a difference. I will definitely be asking you to visit our school again when I get my new year group! Many thanks
Excellent. Pitched just right and students responded really well. They came in to school specially for this event (the rest had a long weekend) so this speaks volumes. We are very pleased that we opted to hold the parental session – they were hugely positive about it and I think it will make the stressful months ahead a great deal easier – parents and students in it together.
The course was a great success , the students enjoyed the workshops provided and many of them could see how they could benefit from following some of the revision techniques outlined by Mark Kennedy . The interactive nature of the course also helped to ensure the students were concentrating throughout the two hours. A great day
Extremely well organized. Our presenter (Kim) was engaging, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Pitched at a level suitable for both students and parents. Lots of helpful hints and strategies for revision.
Jay came out to my school today and can I say that he was brilliant, such an inspiration and he has encouraged me to do more revision for my exams in the summer, thank you for doing what you do
Students engaged and the content was well lead. Enjoyed by students and supporting staff thought it was well delivered and shared excellent strategies
Mark and Steve were very professional and very skilled presenters. We really enjoyed the course and most of the students got something out of the day. The nature of the cohort that we asked Mark and Steve to work with, meant that some of the students were disaffected and reluctant to engage. I would recommend them wholeheartedly. The techniques and the course content were high quality. I’m sure we’ll book the course again, Incidentally – we booked this course because of the recommendation of a colleague.
The two areas. Study skills and Motivation very relevant topics. The Students really got into the first session on study skills and to some degree the same with Motivation. Natalie was very positive and praised the students for their involvement and enthusiasm throughout the day. A very worthwhile and enjoyable day. Very good indeed, Natalie was excellent
The courses are very well designed. Both the study skills and the revision days were well received by students, with staff who sat in wanting to put the material learned to use straight away. Colleagues were reciting the life of Muhammed Ali verbatim in the staffroom! Most importantly, as with all INSET/training, the course leader makes all the difference. I have come across few people who are as relaxed about the time outside of the sessions, and at the same time as dynamic and engaging during the training sessions themselves as Jay. He is an integral part of our KS4 curriculum delivery and always very welcome at Challoner.
Mastering Motivation with Y12 students was well received. Pace, delivery and content all good and appropriate.
Can I just say many thanks – Jay was in school with us last week and it was a really positive experience for our students. Please can you pass on thanks to Jay. We are focusing this week on building on the workshops from last week with Years 8-11 students. We will definitely be booking again for next January.
We were very impressed yesterday. The course content was exactly what I was looking for. The students were engaged, motivated and came out ‘buzzing’. The practical techniques and target setting skills have given the students a good base knowledge. The ‘buzzing’ students were a direct result of the quality of delivery by Natalie and Karim so please pat them on the back.
The students really enjoyed the activities and were still talking about them after they had finished their session. All of the students that I spoke to afterwards said that they would recommend it to others. The feedback that I received from other members of staff was also positive.
As last year – students enjoyed the course and nearly all were positive about their two hour session. The session delivered to staff was great – I think they would have been happy for a longer session – our decision to keep it to 45 minutes.
Thank you for a fantastic day! The students were all enthused and I have had a number of conversations with parents who have said that the students came home full of ideas to try. The messages that were passed on to the students have really hit home and some of them have become more focused as a result. Jay was fantastic and I have already had the current Head of Year 9 ask for a copy of the brochure as she will be very interested in using your company in the future. The two sessions were pitched perfectly and kept the students fully focused and interested all morning, and for some the whole day. A super day, Thank You
On behalf of the students at the King's School I would like to thank you for your excellent presentation for our Routes and Pathways day.
I was delighted to hear from the boy's, staff and parents that they thouroughly enjoyed the session and found it very worthwhile.
We would very much like to welcome you back to the school soon.
Very engaging and the students enjoyed working with Jay
Hi, I go to Redhill School , Karim did a presentation today, I want to thank you for coming and just to say how helpful I fount it! Thankyou!
I would like to thank you on behalf of all the students and the staff from Holy Trinity. The sessions have had a huge impact on the students and they have applied the mind mapping skills in their lessons today.
It was a very successful day thank you. Natalie worked very hard and the kids all enjoyed it. More importantly I think they actually picked up some great tips. I know I did.
Jay ran the session really well, and was motivational. Parents have already requested another session with themselves and pupils together/very well received.
The Super Speed Study Skills workshop was excellent – fun, with lots of ideas for pupils to take away. Pupil evaluation was very positive. Many said that they had tried one of the techniques last night.
Excellent presentation which engaged the students, despite there being a large number in the hall. Your presenter was enthusiastic and untiring!
The children and parents who participated in the day enjoyed it. The presenter was excellent and engaging too
I am Head of English at THS (Tennyson High School) a secondary modern school in Mablethorpe, Lincolnshire.
This year my department was the most improved in the country at KS3, with a third of our pupils gaining L5+ more than last year. This year we are predicting 75% L5+.
Your Positively Mad about English course has been more than instrumental in that success; we have improved KS3 and KS4 imaginative writing skills by at least two grades/levels; many of the resources supplied are used as posters to teach specifics; Speed Reading has become a real competitive sport!
I can honestly say that renewing my acquaintance with your course has reminded me how inspirational and innovative your ideas are – I should be using more of them in school to improve even more!
Thank you.
As ever, feedback was great. Daniel was enthusiastic and sessions were fun and informative. Staff and students were happy
Rachel was an energetic and skillful presenter. The material was helpful and explained well. The teacher meeting was a useful addition.
Many thanks to you all for an enjoyable day. Kim was most engaging with the students and the organization from your office staff was clear and prompt. Students and staff have gained from the experience.
I arranged for PM to come to Gower College but unfortunately I was off sick when the event took place. Staff have told me they were very impressed with the event and once some get back to me with emailed comments I'll fill in the sheet and return it to you. I am definitely interested in booking with you again.
Relaxed attitude with well organised presentation/activities meant the students remained on task and contributed sensibly throughout the two hours.
I attended the Bridging The Gap workshop last night at my sons school, run by Vicki. Fabulously inspirational, I am truly inspired. I am a 36 year old mother of three and am just starting a college course myself after last studying 20 years ago, I will take on board everything i saw and learnt and will utilise it throughout my study’s and the rest of my life. Vicki was a breath of fresh air and her energy will stay with me for a very long time. A big Thank you Helen
A fantastic way for students to consolidate the ideas and techniques they were introduced to during a live workshop.
