Mind Mapping

Mind Mapping is a uniquely effective study skill. Once mastered, it can be used in nearly every learning situation to unleash higher-order thinking skills, like analysis and synthesis. Use our Mind Mapping course to help your students supercharge retention and recall, boost creativity, enhance planning and become efficient note-takers.

Aims of the workshop

  • To show students practical ways to create mind-mapped notes
  • To help students better organise their thoughts
  • To boost understanding and recall
  • To encourage creativity
  • To build robust planning skills

Benefits

Mind Mapping is an effective multisensory learning strategy. The skills learned in this workshop will help to develop both creative and analytical thought patterns.

Students will leave the sessions with better recall and practical, transferable tools that can help them make fast and effective notes, plan better and understand more complex information.

Workshop overview

Our mind mapping workshop is run as a presentation with practical elements and shows students how to create and use mind maps to enhance learning and recall.

The workshop is run as a standalone session, but it can be combined effectively with other workshops to create a more sustained programme of intervention. Each workshop can be extended to incorporate further practical work and explore the creative and analytical aspects of the tool.

This Mind Mapping workshop can be easily tailored for all abilities from Key Stage 2 and above and is available throughout the academic year.
