Rip-Roaring Resits

When students feel like they have failed, it can knock their confidence. But this fast-paced, high-energy, interactive workshop will pick them up again and put them back on the track for success. It is specifically designed to increase motivation in students retaking English or Maths GCSEs and will improve memory skills, boost revision skills and grow self-confidence.

Aims of the workshop

  • To help post-16 students build their confidence and develop a positive mindset for resitting Maths or English GCSEs
  • To provide effective tools and techniques to organise workloads, improve revision strategies and boost performance in exams
  • To increase motivation in students

Benefits

Students will leave the Rip-Roaring Resits workshop feeling energised, enthusiastic and far better prepared to tackle their workload and face their exams with confidence. Using a unique combination of time management strategies, stress management techniques and memory tools, we show students how to manage their workload and improve their revision skills while building confidence and managing stress.

Workshop overview

Designed for post-16 learners resitting English or maths GCSEs, this workshop shows students how to prepare for exams to maximise their chance of success. Students will learn powerful techniques that build confidence and aspiration, and enhance performance.

Workshop content

The Rip-Roaring Resits workshop is packed with tailored content that is adapted to the needs of your students. It includes, but is not limited to:

  • A range of practical memory and analysis tools
  • The “Miracle Morning” concept
  • Relaxation techniques for preparing for exams
  • The traffic light revision system and the smart, free-time timetable
  • State-management techniques

Results

Practicalities

We recommend sitting students around tables in groups of six to eight in a spacious room that is conducive to learning.

Your Positively You event can be broken down as follows, depending on your timetable:

  • 4 x 1-hour workshops
  • 3 x 80-minute workshops
  • 2 x 2-hour workshops

Each workshop can accommodate no more than 100 different students.

Rip-Roaring Resits can be delivered face-to-face or online.
