Bridging the Gap Workshop

This workshop takes a realistic look at the demands of Key Stage 5 and the skills needed to bridge the gap to higher-order thinking and self-directed learning. The bridging the gap workshop equips students with a range of tools and techniques designed to promote self-study, independent learning and research.
This workshop also aligns with the Gatsby Good Career Guidance. Students will focus on Benchmarks 2 and 4: learning from career and labour market information and linking curriculum learning to careers.

Aims of the workshop

  • To show students that the transition into Key Stage 5 doesn’t have to be daunting
  • To stimulate a mature and positive attitude towards learning
  • To introduce students to the advanced demands of post-16 education and the tools that can help drive success at this critical stage
